Hey there.

Now, I don't make the best deck choices, but I wanted to try make a competitive rogue deck starring the awesome water-type Pokemon, Feraligatr! it would be awesome if some people could help me make the deck to have its fullest potential. Thanks for looking!

Pokemon:

  • 4 Totodile (PHF)
    2 Croconaw (PHF)
    4 Feraligatr (PHF)
    1 Suicune (PLB)
    2 Reshiram (LTR)
    2 Chinchou (PCL)
    2 Lanturn (PCL)
    1 Keldeo EX
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums:

  • 1 Colress
    4 Dive Ball
    2 Float Stone
    2 Head Ringer
    1 Lysandre
    3 N
    3 Professor Sycamore
    3 Rare Candy
    3 Rough Seas
    2 Skyla
    2 Ultra Ball
    2 VS Seeker
Energy:

  • 10 Water Energy
    4 DCE

Strategy:

I chose Feraligatr because I thought its first attack, Hyper Whirlpool, would be good for discarding energies off the opponent's Pokemon. Head Ringer goes great with Feraligatr if it's up against an EX Pokemon. Rare Candies to evolve Totodile to Feraligatr as quick as possible and Robo Substitute to help myself get set up as well as stall the opponent. The Keldeo and the Float Stone is included just in case my active is in trouble. And the Reshiram is included to get rid of

The 2-2 Lanturn line uses water energy plus it can eliminate Yveltal. The Rough Seas will help with the healing of all electric and water pokemon. The Dive Balls will help with getting the water type pokemon out

It's be appreciated it some people can advise me what to add. Thank you.

RE: A Rogue Deck Skeleton: Energy Gator (Feraligatr / Suicune / Reshiram)

To start you need Draw supporters like 4 Profesor Juniper or Sycamore, 4 N, Colress, also Skyla would help get you trainers that you will need. you will also need Ultra balls to help you get your pokemon out, and could also use pokemon fanclub.

Ok, noted and will plan accordingly. Any other people that can help me will be appreciated!

RE: A Deck Skeleton: Energy Gator (Feraligatr / Suicune / Reshiram)

This deck is already a little slow given that Feraligtr is a stage 2, but I was thinking in order to take full advantage of his second attack that maybe a a 2-2 Fortress FLF line would be helpful. His ability says, "When you play this Pokémon from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon, you may put 1 damage counter on each of your opponent's Pokémon." You spread that damage around and then you're able to hit those magic numbers with Feraligatr's second attack. A Suicune to safeguard and a Keldeo for some mobility. Just the first thoughts that came to mind. Good luck!

Thank you, Toto. I appreciate your help.

RE: A Deck Skeleton: Energy Gator (Feraligatr / Suicune / Reshiram)

I know it might take a large chunk out of your deck, but if you ever find that attaching energy takes too long and leaves you open to attack with little payoff, maybe 1 Lunatone from Plasma Storm and some Ethers might help.

RE: A Deck Skeleton: Energy Gator (Feraligatr / Suicune / Reshiram)

This might take up a lot of space, but you could substitute your 2-2 Forretress for 2-2 Milotic FF and 2-3 Battle Compressor items. Milotics ability Energy Grace allows you to knock it out and put 3 basic energy from your discard pile on to Feraligatr. Battle Compressor will assist in getting that energy into the discard pile. You could also use Energu Grace to instantly power up Keldeo-EX.

Of course with most Stage 2 decks, all of the above relies on good draw support (and maybe luck) so you can actually execute combos like that.

RE: A Deck Skeleton: Energy Gator (Feraligatr / Suicune / Reshiram)

Milotic cant attach energy to EX pokemon. So it wont be useful to keldeo ex. Though it is a solid for feraligatr.

RE: A Deck Skeleton: Energy Gator (Feraligatr / Suicune / Reshiram)

Ok since I've seen the new set's cards, I need to revise my deck, especially the Pokemon section. Should I take out the 2-2 Forretress line and add a 2-2 Lanturn line? This line will be useful because 1) Yveltal and 2) I can put in 2-3 Rough Seas stadium cards. How many Archie's Ace in the Hole cards should I have? Number of Dive Balls too? And should I replace the Keldeo EX with the new Kyogre EX?

RE: A Deck Skeleton: Energy Gator (Feraligatr / Suicune / Reshiram)

did you think of adding 2 Skyla's and 2 Professor's Letter because they can help you get the water energy out in a pinch and could possible work really well with the deck
