Ruling Escape Rope + Lysandre + Effect = ?

Say I have Regice and my opponent has an EX pokemon. Regice has used the blizzard attack which makes him ignore damage from EXs during his next turn.

If he is switched out via an escape rope and lysandred back in is he still immune to damage from EX attacks?

If not why not? His effect is NOT a condition so AFAIK isn't removed from him when he is benched.

All effects of attacks--not just Special Conditions--go away when a Pokemon is sent to the bench. Regice would be left wide open for murdering.
