Espeon deck idea...

so I was looking over all the cards that we might get in our may set Dark Explorers and this one particularly caught my eye:

Espeon – Psychic – HP90
Stage 1 – Evolves from Eevee

Ability: Solar Miracle
As long as this Pokemon is in play, prevent all effects of your opponent’s Pokemon's attacks done to any of your Pokemon with Energy attached to them.

[P][C][C] Psychic Report: 60 damage. Look at your opponent’s hand.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

first off it's ability is just imo cheap it would make a very fun rouge deck just simply attach one energy to all of your pokemon and bam! your opponent can't hurt you unless they have a crushing hammer, force pickup on seeker, or play durant this would even work against (or with which is just as scary) the infamous mewtwo EX. also his attack isn't half bad either for a psychic and a DCE energy do 60 damage and look at your opponents hand. with 1 retreat this guy could easily fit with something like darkrai. I was thinking maybe putting him with mewtwo and darkrai with several other basic/stage 1 attackers that use darkness energy with a 4-4 or 3-3 espeon line the point is to attack 1 or more energy to all of your pokemon in play then just be invincible for the rest of the game. I think this would be a very cool deck and I want to try it out as soon as I can proxie the cards for it. Thoughts?

Sorry, but this doesn't work. Espeon is much like Unown G, where it only prevents effects of attacks (like placing damage counters, Special Conditions, etc.)

When Garbodor comes out, (the ability lock one) couldn't you just have an Espeon in play and attach an energy to Garbodor and he would completely immune to Raikou EX?

EDIT: Never mind, Garbo stops your own ability powers.

That wouldn't work even if Garbador didn't lock Espeon, since Raikou-EX's snipe is damage, not an effect of attack.

Isn't damage that is not bolded in the right of the attack an effect?

No, that's still considered regular damage. Pretty sure the only thing the number on the right of the attack implies is that it is doing damage to the defending Pokemon. Effects of an attack include things like, placing damage counters (Gengar Prime's Cursed Drop for example), special conditions, and probably lots of other things but I can't think of any other common ones the moment. :/

awww I was hoping it would be like mewtwo lvl. X which prevented all effects including damage :(..... you so mean ;-; lol..... well I guess the truth can really hurt :p

Espeon says bye bye to VVV! :D Thats something to be happy about IMO. It has purposes for bad matchups, but you cannot base a deck around it. Definitally not.

IMO, espeon is mostly the nail in the coffin for things like cobalion NV or amoonguss ND.we can't include damge because mewtwo+espeon = UNBEATABLE that way

that's why I wanted to use it lol (although I suppose you could beat it with durant or if you spam crushing hammer/lost remover/smochum HS/Aipom etc..... of course that was assuming he blocked damage :( )

It still doesn't stop Amoongus ND because the thing making amoongus decent is it's Ability, which isn't stopped by Espeon at all.

I don't think Espeon will really see any play. Neither Vanilluxe, Cobalion, or Muk (with Mew Prime) are really seen any more (at least in my experience) and they're the only things in format that Espeon will actually do anything against. Cobalion, the only one that imo has any potential at all left in the format, is destroyed by Darkrai EX, which is a much more useful card that Espeon.
