XY Evolution ideas for what we've seen so far?

I can see fletchling abruptly turning into Talonflame. I'm kind of tired of the 2 stage birds, we already got 2 in a row and honestly they aren't really worth the waste of dex space just for that 1 extra evolution.

Just because there were two spaces after Fletchling doesn't necessarily mean it's two staged. I would prefer Talonflame to be it's only evolution.

I also would like Clauncher and Skrelp to have one evolution as well. For Clauncher, I keep picturing it evolving sort of similar to Crawdaunt, and I hope it doesn't. I LOVE Crawdaunt but I would like Clauncher to take another route for it's evolution.

I hope that Skrelp and Clauncher evolve at least once. The more evolutions the better IMO. I hope Clauncher's evolution(s) are more similar to Crawdaunt than to Kingler.

I can definitely agree with that. I'm not a big fan of Kingler so if Clauncher's evo line stirs away from that look I'll be happy.

If Clauncher evolves, I hope it will be a Mantis Shrimp~

Id definitely like Clauncher and all subsequent evolutions to keep a more "Lobster" feel to them than Crawdaunt. Keeping the Pokemon quadrupedal instead of bipedal is key, IMO, to keeping this feel.

Same and when it comes to ideas gamefreak has hardly gotten lazy. There are so many things to base a pokemon on and people are getting tired of all the cats that we have but forget that we also have multiple breeds, Liepard was more like a leopard cat, leopard, and black panther (which is characterized as either as a black leopard or a black jaguar). What I would love to see is a cheetah like evolution for it along with more dark type attacks.

The most common thing I've seen people want Clauncher to evolve into (myself included) is something based on a mantis shrimp:
Mantis+shrimp.jpg

It's not bipedal in the literal sense (standing on two legs), but it does have a somewhat upright upper body. I can see it easily ending up looking like Crawdaunt, but I hope they keep it more... anthropod-ish. At least three pairs of back legs, none of which are like Crawdaunt's Nidoqueen feet. :T

Personally I do not want another Swellow/Pelipper :\ They go from weak, evolve and theyre ok for a bit, but Swellow is so glass. Pelipper is better, but it's not exactly the 'regional bird'. And Spearow -> Fearow is not that abrupt... it'd be more like Starly -> Staraptor, but moreso because Fletchling's design is simpler than Starly's. Magikarp is the weakest thing to exist*, and Dewott is a middle evo.

Anyway, Clauncher turning into some sort of Mantis Shrimp would be cool, now that i've seen the picture. I like the blue on Clauncher, so if it evolves i hope it keeps that somewhere on it.

Depends on who you ask, I think spearow->Fearow is very abrupt, it tripled in size, has a long neck, and it's beak is much longer. You probably don't think it's abrupt because your mind is used to it.

The regional birds aren't designed for competitive use but instead as a pseudo-starter to give kids something to use early on, even if it had another evo that wouldn't really affect it's competitive status. Swellow is something that's mingled with the higher tiers for years, birds are frail anyways (they have hollow bones) so it being glass is extremely logical.

Looking just at height and weight, Talonflame is very similar to both Staraptor and Unfezant, the last two fully evolved regional birds, so it's definitely possible that it's the final evolution - but it's also similar in size to Pidgeotto, so it being a middle phase is still on the table. I'm actually leaning towards the latter - as has been pointed out elsewhere, the speckling on its underside is a juvenile feature in a lot of birds, and it just seems to me that there's a lot of room for it to get even more obviously Fire-type in appearance.

EDIT: In looking through the Japanese official site, I noticed it says that Talonflame comes from repeated evolution of Fletchling. (Click the button below the question mark at the bottom left.) So I guess we have our answer: it's the final stage.

Litleo - either a manticore or a lion with a flaming mane

Flabebe - I expect it to evolve twice, but I have no idea what it will be

Clauncher - one evolution, hopefully with some more artillery themes. Maybe something lobster-like with its body being a cannon or having gun barrels coming out of it. Maybe a literal pistol shrimp with at least its big claw becoming a handgun. Or maybe something mantis shrimp related.

Skrelp - one evolution, some kind of deadly leafy sea dragon. Maybe hybridized with a squid, but probably not.

TalonflamePyrogrene - I guess a middle stage

Noivern - one prevo

Like I said Magikarp to Gyarados can be considered an abrupt change but really shouldn't be due to the mythology aspect, all I am saying is that Dewott to Samurott can still be considered an abrupt change when both Dewott and Oshawott were both otters and Samurott is a sea lion. It is these reasons why I can see Fletchling to Talonflame being abrupt if gamefreak wanted it to be that way.

Seeing as Fletchling's line is based on an arrow, Flarrow is the name I have my heart set on for the middle-stage.

I really hope Flabébé evolves. However, I seem to be in the minority in that I don't want it to fuse with the flower.

Flabébé will most likely be the Castform of this gen..because its cute and small and doesnt look like it can evolve or if it did evolve it will most likely use the flower as a weapon or become a part of it

To the people saying Gogoat doesn't have an evolution, that's because it's a final evolution.

We saw little versions/possible Gogoat pre-evos in one of the earlier trailers in the background.

I really hope Noivern isn't fully evolved. It looks too small to be a fully evolved dragon.
Not all dragons have to evolve. Look at Druddigon. I personally think that it won't have any evos/preevos, now that Dragon is more "balanced," and not that exclusive overpowered type anymore.

Personally I love Noivern as a stand-alone. Druddigon was just.... fail. Oversaturated colors + derpy design. Some may like it, and good for them. I'm just saying I think Noivern is awesome :U
