RE: EX: ACANTHITE - The biggest thing in faking history (10 new cards 20th July)
The preliminary sketch of PorygonX3 is kinda odd... it's meant to be like a space probe, and there is in fact a bit of backstory to the whole Porygon line now.
There's a truckload of professors in the Pokémon Acanthite game; most importantly, there's Professor Willow (she's the main one who gives you your starter), Prof Aspen (who owns Aspen Corporation) Professor Sorrell (who is engineering a new form of artificial life) and Professor Hemlock (also referred to as Duncan, and he is a gym leader of Mezereon City).
Professor Duncan Hemlock, a scientist working for Aspen Co. and a permanent member of S.U.M. (the Science Union of Merto) is also the designer of the Porygon series. The original Porygon was the first system that could convert from physical form to data in a computer, and was fitted with the ability to remove early forms of the MissingNo. virus which has been harming systems. Porygon2 was an improved version that was originally intended to be a space probe in order to search for life in space (after rumours of Deoxys sightings) but sadly this version had to be rushed when the MissingNo. problem resurfaced and it was instead completed as a counter to the Mistrync issue. PorygonX3's design was a major overhaul in order to complete the space missions. The program was also intended to be much faster and capable of "learning" how to handle new viruses from merely observing its data strings and patterns.
Professor Sorrell is also engineering an artificial Pokémon - however, he is less successful. Argus, Team Rocket's new leader as they search for the player's father to learn how to complete Project GEMININE, hears about this artificial Pokémon and breaks into the Southrock Laboratories in an attempt to steal the prototype. Sorrell, thinking quickly as Argus is distracted by the arrival of the player and his sister, converts it into data to send it into the safety of cyberspace. But as it is incomplete, it becomes corrupted and it is down to the player to go into cyberspace and use Duncan's first ever PorygonX3 to stop it.
One of the more exciting sidequests of Pokémon Acanthite.
