EX-Era(Ruby & Sapphire - Power Keepers) Codes (Help with French & German)

For those of you who like to have very thorough collections, such as owning all misprints or RH cards of each set), I have some news for you. I'm sure some people are aware of this, but the cards that were printed between Ruby & Sapphire and Power Keepers had a 9 digit or lettered code printed in the bottom left corner.

As far as I know, the codes dont represent anything more significant than perhaps organizational purposes for printing and layout on the sheets.

What I have found by looking at pictures of cards and from some other members, is that there is a certain pattern to the codes.

All codes for an individual Pokemon are identical for the first 6 digits of letters. Only the final 3 differ.

EX Ruby & Sapphire - EX Deoxys (not including EX Team Magma VS Team Aqua)
Common: 3 different codes + 1 RH code = 4 total codes
ex.) ABC, EFG, JKL + XYZ (RH)
Uncommon: 2 different codes + 1 RH code identical to one of the non RH codes = 3 total codes
ex.) ABC, EFG + EFG (RH)
Rare/Holo/UR/SR: 1 code

Ex Emerald/Unseen Forces/Delta Species

Common: 3 different codes + 1 RH code = 4 total codes
ex.) ABC, EFG, JKL + XYZ (RH)
Uncommon: 1 different codes + 1 RH code = 2 total codes
ex.) ABC + EFG (RH)
Rare/Holo/UR/SR: 1 code

EX Legend Maker - EX Power Keepers
1 code regardless of rarity of card.

I would also like to mention that any European language will have the same codes. Japanese cards, however, have completely different codes. I have not yet figured out if 1st edition cards are treated the same as RH in English by having only 1 code.

EDIT: So, I think I figured out Japanese codes. I asked around to see if people could tell me what codes they found on the Japanese Voltorbs from the EX sets and I believe I found a pattern. So far, it seems that each common has up to 4 different codes (like English, including the RH). As for the 1st editions they have identical codes to the unlimited ones. So that means, for any 1 common card, there are 8 different versions; 4 unlimited codes and 4 1/e codes. Hope this is accurate.

Anyway, I started this thread to see if I could get some more information on these codes.

I have a FRLG Voltorb that I will check soon. I have also noticed these codes, but that you're collecting all these different codes shows that you're really dedicated. *impressed*

Haha, thanks! I am pretty dedicated to my collection. Although, its not an entire set, so I only have to worry about the codes for about 8 cards..... per language.

Here's a thread I started a while back on the same topic: http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/thread-ex-series-serial-numbers
Please ignore the information given by xxashxx.

So yeah, after you look at the thread, you'll see not much is known about this topic :/

I'm sure you've seen my other thread on the Gym started by TonySandlin. It seems to be getting more information over there. There is actually a guy who readily gave me all the numbers for the Voltorbs I was looking to get. He said he only needs 3 from all the sets combined to own them all. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Anyway, I just looked through and saw that you said the E-reader cards had serial numbers to differentiate E-Reader codes. Does this mean that the cards had multiple codes per common or uncommon in the same way that the EX series cards do?

RE: ex-era(Ruby & Sapphire - Power Keepers) Codes

So, if I understand correctly, RH cards have only one code which is identical to the NH Rare?

Kind of curious, because this makes the sets much more appealing to collect if you ask me.

That sounds correct. It does make it more appealing, but much harder. I've just added around 40 cards to my collection that I need now.

RE: ex-era(Ruby & Sapphire - Power Keepers) Codes

This is the first I have heard of this...
I will have to check some of those old cards and see what I can find out.

So far all my Power Keeper and Dragon Frontier commons and uncommons are all the same...

*edit*
I should be finding 2 different codes for uncommons and 3 for commons?
I am not having any luck with this so far...

RE: ex-era(Ruby & Sapphire - Power Keepers) Codes

Japanese cards have entirely different codes. I'll edit what I know on the first post. Its an interesting subject lol

Sorry, I forgot to mention that their is only one code for any card in those sets. I updated the first post, so it should make a bit more sense. I'm learning how this works as well haha

RE: ex-era(Ruby & Sapphire - Power Keepers) Codes

Oh my...
Those stupid tiny little letters...

At first glance I thought we just might be looking at theme deck variants.
This is not the case...

It appears that common trainers are in this too.

Yeah, what a pain for people who want to collect them! I shouldnt have much of a problem, because I learned all the codes for the cards I need, I just have to find them now.

RE: ex-era(Ruby & Sapphire - Power Keepers) Codes

The further along in the ex series you go, the less of a chance that the set will have varying serial numbers.

Thanks for bringing so much attention to this topic evilpacman :D

No problem! You can thank my Voltorb collection for making me want to pursue this topic haha

I'm currently working on Japanese, but I'll have to contact some people who collect Japanese cards to help me figure those codes out. Man, being a collector can be so time consuming!

RE: ex-era(Ruby & Sapphire - Power Keepers) Codes

What are the rules for Aqua Magma cards?

I think they only have 1 code for each card regardless of the rarity. I'm not too sure about that though.

RE: ex-era(Ruby & Sapphire - Power Keepers) Codes

I will take a close look at the Aqua - Magma set then...
Just when I thought I have seen everything when it came to collecting cards...

Looks like about 600-700 more cards will have to be listed.

Yeah, it is quite a problem. haha Good luck in collecting them if you are planning on it.

RE: ex-era(Ruby & Sapphire - Power Keepers) Codes

Shakespeare, I know how you feel. I have to reorganize all my binders to accommodate for the codes, and spend so much more money buying up commons and uncommons :p

Although it has given me hope. If I can manage to get all the code variants, it will make my collection stand out even more. Such limited and unknown knowledge as this would make my collection very unique.

Also, here's some more information from a previous thread of mine: http://pokegym.net/forums/showthread.php?t=166976

Its the new age of collecting Pokemon cards. Now that this has been brought to light, I'll bet many people are going to start collecting those codes! Its crazy! We can now sell our unused commons! Genius!

RE: ex-era(Ruby & Sapphire - Power Keepers) Codes

I have thousands of those cards. Maybe we can help fill each other's collection...

I just have to find the time now...
