Always been curious, Since I never played the TCG thorughout the entire EX sets.
Just started playing again at the release of DP.

So, what were the big decks of that time, anyway?
Like, which ones led the competition, kind of like GG, PLox, Empostar, Magmorter variants, etc.

Thanks.

LBS (Lugia ex UF Blastoise ex FRLG Steelix UF), Metanite(Dragonite DS Metagross DS), Banette ex LM variants, Mercury somewhat (Scizor ex UF, Gardy DS, Starmie DS), Flariados (Flareon ex DS, Ariados UF), Eeveelutions, you should know what's in there,

and that's all I can think of on top of my head.

Then theres Absol Ex-Jolteon Ex/Other Eevees Ex, aka Absolutions. Late Ex era there was Inferncatty (Infernape/Delcatty/Delcatty Ex).

Earlier on, Rocklock (TTar TRR?/ATM Rock HL), Blaziken (Blaziken Ex TMTA/Blaziken RS), Dragtrode (Dark Dragonite, guess the other >.>). Thats what I know of.

Actually there is a Combo Library with some of the Delta Combos (how do you guys do the delta sign here; i never figured that out xp)... you might wanna check it out... It has combos like Charicatine (which I don't think it ever achived the status of a great deck) and others, but it's HP On...
If i'm not mistaken Tyranitar EX UF was played in some deck that was really great I just can't figure out what deck....

one of the greatest decsk around... KINGDRA EX SWARM.. omg this deck was a beast when i ran it...
Kingdra ex out turn two no wait i had 3 kingdra ex cards out turn two and an active pokemon that was hard to kill ( pinsir delta ) aww i miss running that deck ( i still have it but omg the only thing that could stop me was tyranitar EX cause it it doesnt do direct damage it just knocks out, )
gosh... thank for the nostalgia...

Magma Spirit was, well, the *ONLY* playable deck in 2004. (It swept every age division at Worlds.)

In 2005, Queendom, Rocklock, Ludicargo, Medicham Ex and ZRE were some of the top decks.

Wow.
These decks are all going waaay over my head.
I have no idea what those cards do. xD

Anyway... I was thinking we should have some Pre-DP games on Redshark. Both for the nostalgia, and for the people (like me) who have never played with/against them.
;D Agree/disagree?

You play redshark? That's the first time someone NOT on the online battling thread mention that he/she plays rs.

Secondly, I was at the late era of the EX-period so I had NO idea what the heck was going on (except for absolutions, I smashed that deck so many times). But I'd honesty prefer to stay in DP-on regardless. One is because everyone I know prfers DP-on and I don't want to read 300 new cards to start playing HP-on (or unlimited even).

That's why I'm so into it right now...
It's like 10 new sets were just released for me! xD

Absolutions won Worlds, IIRC. EDIT: Wait, no it didn't- It won something, I can't remember what...

EDIT: And a DX-on/HL-On redshark battle would be freakin' sweet. I'd pwn you all with my Flariados. >:D

You have to understand though, is that the old ruling was that Fossils did not yield a prize card when KOd, meaning Poliwhirl could hide behind a fossil, and your opponent couldn't do anything about it, save warp pointing, which would just mean another fossil coming out.

Well, around the time MT was released, there was a popular deck called DAX-Lock, involving Dragonite EX, Altaria EX, and Xatu DF. It didn't last long though.
