The voting for the names and dex entries of our first Fakemon line (decided in the previous vote) has now begun! You can find this thread by clicking here.

---

Hi guys, and welcome to the second Fakemon competition! Once every month, we will be holding a tournament where people design a Pokemon based on certain restrictions. The winners entry will be added to a collective Fakedex. The aim here to eventually create an entirely new set of a 101 Pokemon.

Please note that absolutely anyone can join this. You don't have to sign up or anything. Just browsing our forums and want to participate? Then all you have to do is make an account and post your Fakemon. : )

For those who joined in last time, the rules have changed slightly so I suggest you check them out.

Requirements for your entry:

1) You must draw every single Pokemon asked for in the evolution line

2) For now, we only want pictures of the Fakemon, not their names or Pokedex entries (these will be decided in a seperate vote). You can include concept art and perhaps information on how your Fakemon acts in the wild, but I insist that you don't post actual dex entries: you will be wasting your time.

3) Try and get the highest quality picture you can! Stuff of low quality might be rejected in the voting process.

4) Although any kind of artistic medium is allowed (pencil, computer, paint, etc), your entry must be in colour.

5) Your entry must abide by the criteria given for each tournament, which will be given at the end of this post.

Other Rules

1) If you want to use any of the entries for your own projects (like a fan game or something), then you must ask the artist for permission.

2) Do not steal art from others and claim it as your own. So help me God, if I catch anyone doing this, I'll ban you from this competition and possibly the entire forum.

3) Standard forum rules apply as usual. That includes the rules we have that are exclusive to fan creations.

So in other words, don't be a jerk and you should be fine. 8D

Voting

So, how is the winner determined? This will be based on a public vote, where the entry with the most votes is crowned as the winner. The voting period will start in roughly three weeks time, when the submission period is over. I will go into further detail about the voting process when the time comes.

Competing

Ok, now that all the rules and stuff are out of the way, let me finally explain what this months Fakemon will be based on!

This time it's bugs! I want you to design a split bug type evolution line, as follows: Bug/??? -> Bug/??? or Bug/???, where the dual type can be anything you want. For example, Bug/Poison -> Bug/Psychic or Bug/Fire.

If you are wondering what a split evolution line is, think Snorunt evolving into either Glalie or Froslass.

You may use any kind of concept you can think of. It could be based on a bug already existing in nature, or something entirely made up.

The submission period for your entries begins now, and ends on the 16th of August. Good luck to all participants!

Man... I'll just have to do hand drawns because I don't have an application to do it on the computer and my parents won't let me get one. So is that still okay scampy?

Wow that's a long time, I'm gonna try and produce some better art this time.

Already got an idea for my entry, think I'll start doin' some designs. :)

Assuming we do 3 Fakemon a month, it will take roughly 34 months (just under 3 years) to make a set of 101. However, if we get enough interest then it might be possible to spread this so that we can have multiple competitions running along side each other, thus reducing the overall time.

haha i hope so. considering by that time (3 years) i will be in college and will possible be done with pokebeach
anyways, here is my current idea...
bug/normal (maybe)----learn dig----bug/ground
or -----------------------learn fly----bug/flying

I'm doing designs for a Fire Ant based Pokemon Fire/Bug that splits off into an Ant Queen if it's female or an Antlion if it's male...

But I'm reluctant because Trapinch->Vibrava are also antlions... The design should be different enough I hope.

So all three stages have to be bug, and the extra type has to be different for each stage? that's weird man

no, you can have Bug--->Bug or Bug, if I red it right, but then it would be pretty dumb since Split evo's introduce a New type to the Pokemon that can "Split evolve."

Looking forward to this one, I have the perfect idea for a Pokemon.

Basically you can have an evo like this:
-------------------- Poke2 V1 (Bug/Fire)
Poke1 (Bug/Fire) -->
-------------------- Poke2 V2 (Bug/Ground)

So it can evolve two ways into two different Pokes, like Snorunt, or Burmy.

Oh I see, lol thanks. How many split evo's do we make? (like eevee too, right?)

You need to have a basic and then two evos, split. So it would be exactly like Snorunt or Burmy. Eevee is a huge example, but for the sake of confusing people I only put burmy and snorunt.

Wow, so just submit artwork for now? That's odd... Why can't we even post their names? o_O

But I know you've got to have a good reason for choosing to do it that way...

I've got the sketches, height/weight/etc., Dex entries, TM/HM Move Lists, and Tutor Move List for mine already done, I just need to color the sketches and scan them in... So I can get my entry out of the way and work on other things. xP

same here but if i am reading the rules correctly, then we cant use our own ides so... yea we will have to just forget those.
that is why i am considering quitting...

Bug types are my favorite pokemon to make fakemons of. right now i have the Name, height, weight, pokedex entries, abilities, base stats, and typing. So far this is my idea:

Bug/Ground --Lv 35--> Bug/Ground

Bug/Ground --Trade holding Dragon Scale--> Bug/Dragon

personally, i think it's going to turn out looking really good. :]

@ The Assassin; Thank you! You gave me an idea. When you mensioned Bug/Dragon, an Idea hit me!

Basic-Bug/Steel
-Bug/Dragon

Im thinking about some sort of Centepede for the basic form. Then a bug like serpentine dragon mix. And for the Bug/steel form, a large steel scorpion of sort.

Mwahahahahahaaha.

you completely stole my idea >:[ cept all of my fakemon are more or less based around Centipedes.

Well, out of all fairness, you never actually said anything specific AND the Bug/Steel Scorpion idea is totally mine.

I mean, there are only so many different ideas to think of out there. Im not stealing anything, just saying you gave me some ideas.

EDIT: OH!!!!!! Dude, im sorry i didnt see that. The Basic form part....Sorry, I missed that. Okay then. BUT! THe evolution ideas are still fine for me.
