Feedback for Reorganizing the Forums

No. Just no. Why fix whats not broken? Plus merges would mean that people would have to dig around in heaps of threads they don't want to read to find what they want and as a person that only uses about 5 subforums having to do that would suck so much I might consider quitting Pokebeach.

Why would you quit if you are just looking for a thread for 15-30 more seconds?

^This and it's a good thing tags are suggested. They make it easier to find exactly what you're looking for (Ctrl-F is nice with this too).
So I'm on board with this reorganization.

The thing is is that some devices don't have control f. Also things would get a lot harder to find once there's 2 or three pages of threads with new posts.

Let's be real here;
We can barely get 2-3 pages of active threads that show up when you click "View New Posts"
There definitely won't be 2-3 pages in one subforum

Overall I really like the new organization a lot. I'm just wondering, what exactly is the difference between something like "OU: Strategy" and "OU: Pokemon" ? They're both under competitive, so I would assume the point of starting a thread in "OU: Pokemon" is to discuss what kinds of pokemon combo well with the one being discussed, possible movesets, good teams to use it on,etc. But then there's "OU: Strategy" which also seems like the place you'd put all of those things, so I'm a bit confused as to the different purpose that those 2 kinds of sub-forums would have.

Everything else looks really nice and easy to navigate. I like this a lot.

I would assume the [OU: Pokémon] tags would be used for discussing individual Pokémon, like the current Pokémon of the Week threads, whereas the [OU: Strategy] tags would be for more generic strategy threads not based around a certain Pokémon, such as the ORAS Mega Metagame thread, Simple Questions thread, etc.

My only concern with reducing the number of forums is the thread's policy. To clarify and give a proper example, there was a thread started by Athena that allowed for a continuous discussion of the XY anime and while it would be difficult for someone new to the discussion to enter it and participate, the new division, which divides each episode into its own thread, makes these threads seem like ghosts and while people see it and read, only two to three people comment on it, and so if this happens in other forums, reducing them might make them confusing and bloated.

While I agree with you that the split threads in Anime haven't exactly seen a lot of discussion, that was a specific choice made for a specific reason that doesn't really have anything to do with overall forum reorganization. In fact, the anime forum itself is basically staying the same.

The Question and Advice tags aren't making sense to me.
Does it mean someone will ask a question in one place then have to go somewhere else for the answer?

The reason I joined is because I "got" the existing structure. The names of the forums tell me where to find what I'm looking for.

The new tags not so much.

There are several sites I don't use because I have too much trouble finding stuff.

I'll also read most of "Introduce Yourself " posts. The majority said they join because they found a conversation or the info they were looking for.

How I read the Questions and Advice tags is based on the overall content of the thread. After all, there are a lot of questions that people can ask that don't have anything to do with advice, such as clarifying terms, asking for specific help regarding a problem or misunderstanding, "Is there a card that does X?", and other such threads. Similarly, there are plenty of advice-related threads that may not be focused on a specific question, such as someone looking for tips to get back into the metagame after not playing for a few years, or even guides and such made by the staff and other members. This doesn't mean that someone can't give advice in a Question-tagged thread, nor that someone can't ask questions in an Advice-tagged thread. If a thread can fit into both tags, the user can simply choose either one. If someone uses a tag when a different tag might be better, they (or a staff member) can change it.
