I'm new here, so I hope I'm posting in the right place and such.

Anyway, I managed to snag Fennekin-Answers on tumblr, and I've been using it to push myself to become a better artist. http://fennekin-answers.tumblr.com/
I'm not good yet, but luckily I'm open for criticism. I'm looking for any tips to improve my artistic ability.

Also, I haven't seen very many tumblr's when it comes to Pokemon. I was looking for some to follow so that I could look at them as an example or something. So feel free to post 'em here, if you know of any.

RE: Fennekin Tumblr

Don't worry, this is the right place to post. Edited the thread title a little.

First of all, I like the way you have decided to draw. It shows imagination and creativity. You could even do some right here. I think you would like The PokeBattle Thread.

As for your actual drawings, they do need a bit of work. I wouldn't focus so much on Fennekin. This way you'll be an all round good artist, rather than a good Fennekin artist.
Fennekin does have a large head, but try to keep it from being huge like in your first image and the one where you are asked which ball you would like to be caught in.
You draw Fennekin's, very obtuse, neck accurately in your early sketches but in the most recent one you give him a fatter neck that almost forces its body to become slender. For different poses maybe you could practice drawing the animal the Pokemon is based off. In Fenniken's case: a dog.

Pretty good drawings. Hope to see you improve :]

Thanks!
And I do, but I should more. I very rarely draw because I don't have very much push to, and that's why I started this, but I will put more work into drawing other things.

And the first image is supposed to be chibi, so big head and tiny body. It may have not been disproportionate enough to notice, but alright.
Yes, I will work on the necks.
And Fennekin is based off of a fennic fox, just sayin' ^^;;

I'd critique, but I don't have anything but Fennekin to go off of. You forgot Meowth's ears in the first picture... If you post some other stuff I'd gladly give you some pointers, if you want...

Followed, and I would work on some base sketching, yah know? When ever you see people draw a bunch of basic shapes to make what they want to draw, then make the lineart? I think that would be a good direction for you to go in, since it would help a lot with proportion.

A lot of the reason I started this is because I don't have much else, so I can't give you much more to look at.
And I just, uh, forgot the ears... oops...

I think this is something I may have needed to hear, thank you! I always do have trouble just getting those circles and such down, I will practice this.

I've started a "How To" guide on my thread actually, it gives tips for learning how to draw, such as a way to tackle drawing the head, but so far it's only the head and it's limited to people, but I'll get to animals at some point. Check it out for some little tips if you want.
