Strategy:
Ok so the strategy here, for those that don't know, is to use Exeggutor's attack, blockade, for one energy, that prevents my opponent from playing any supporters on their next turn. I also can boost this damage with Muscle Band hand Laser/Bank. What can I do to make this deck better. To optimize it, if you will. I see lots of lists playing Head Ringer, and I'd like to add that since it seems like it could annoy my opponent even more. What do you guys think I should take out/add in to make Exeggutor work better?

Thanks guys!

RE: Fine Tuning the Exeggcute Deck!

What do you mean by "Gust of wind" for the Genesect?

As for adding Head ringer, I think the Town map could come out; I haven't ever found it to be useful, but it could be different for you.
I also don't think the Munna is very helpful, especially since if you make yourself asleep you can't continue to blockade until at least one turn. If you had switch or full heal it could be useful, but there isn't really space in this deck to do that.

RE: Fine Tuning the Exeggcute Deck!

Town Map is pretty handy in a deck like this because of all the one-of cards that could really turn a game around.

Munna is amazingly helpful when you have Virizion plus grass energy attached to your active.

If I were to try to make space for Head Ringer, I think I'd drop a Hammer and a VS Seeker and see how it played with two HR.

Hi ejorange and gromitxt, thanks for the input. I think, in order to make space for 2 Head Ringer, I'd remove one of my Crushing Hammers, VS Seekers and Ultra Balls. What do you guys think? I feel like the Hammer/Seeker combo would be the best option, but I don't know how the deck would function without the 4 Ultra Balls. I'll take this into consideration and playtest each combo to see which works best. If anyone has any more suggestions, feel free to make them!

Thanks,

One of my friends has an Exeggcutor deck; the four VS seekers and hammers are vital for disruption. I actually think you could take out an enhanced hammer. I don't know about the second card, but I don't think it should be a crushing hammer nor VS seeker. However, I do have a question: what do you mean by "gust of wind" next to Genesect EX?

The term "gust of wind" refers to forcible switching effect when you choose the target. Gust of Wind, Pokemon Catcher, Lysandre, Red Signal.

On topic, the deck looks pretty good, though don't expect to make many friends playing it :p. You might want a Team Flare Grunt because it really helps in the Virizion matchup. Cut a Teammates, it isn't great in this deck because you won't be getting knocked out over and over. Ideally, you'll just be locking your opponent. You could also run Computer Search over dowsing machine, because you already have Trump and 4 Seeker.

I would cut the Genesect, and the corresponding Plasma energies. There are too many pokemon that need to be on the bench, and if a flare command pyroar comes about, Genesect is an easy two prizes. If you still want the Lysandre effect, I would run a 1-2 Pokemon Catcher and/or Lysandre. Seismitoad won't be too much of a problem since the deck naturally counters it pretty well. Fill in most of the plasma energies with grass energies (6-7 total) and a professor's letter/energy retrieval so you can search them out, or compressor for them and then retrieve them.

I've been using this deck as well, and I find that adding a Xerosic is very crucial in some positions. Not only for discarding opponent's special energy, but your own plasma energy attached to Genesect, as then you can Trump Card it and re use it over again.
