It doesn't have much of a strategy other than setting up a full bench of fire, and getting a heavy hitter out using Emboar to accelerate and Ninetales to draw. The full bench helps with Charizard, and the Pluspowers are for dealing the extra damage when needed. The energy retrievals are for getting back the energy that Charizard, Emboar, and Reshiram discard, to be accelerated by Emboar and discarded again by Ninetales. I am getting a HGSS Ninetales that accelerates energy from the discard to pokemon for this deck as well. Please provide any criticism or comments that you think will help. Especially on techs, Pokemon, and trainers. Sorry for being a N00b, but I would really appreciate some help.

By the way, I would like to convert my deck to HGSS-on format, so If anyone has an idea that involves getting rid of Charizard ( :( I like Charizard!) I would really like to hear it.

Great idea for a deck but since you want to make it HGSS legal this is what I would personally do:

3-2-3 Typhlosion Prime(3)
4 Reshiram
2-2-2 Emboar with Inferno Fandango
2-2 Ninetails
1-1 Dodrio (retreat aid)

4 Pluspower
3 Communication
3 Collector
3 Energy Retrieval
3 Interviewer's Question
3 Fisherman
3 SSU

14 Fire Energy

Again this is what I would do. My deck is a little bit more complicated than this and has too many different elements for a newer person like you say you are.

Cool, so, just so i'm clear, both Emboars would be Fandango ones, and all Typhlosions would be primes. What would the ninetales be? and this leave reshiram as the deck's main attacker correct? Thanks for the help!

yes boars would both be fandango, all 3 are primes and ninetails would be roast reveal. Reshi would be main correct. LMK how this works for you.

Thanks! I'll have to proxy a whole bunch till i get the cards, but the setup seems sound. I'll definitely test it. I'd still love to hear any other ideas you or anyone else have! I want to see all the possibilities and tips before I commit to buying new cards.

Just a quick change to golfer's list:

Take out all 3 interviewers questions, 1 collector, 2 pluspower, 1 energy retrieval 3 SSU and 2 fisherman for 4 junk arms, 3 dual balls, 3 PONT and 3 juniper. This will make the deck a LOT more consistant. Interviewers questions is good for drawing into energy; but if you have PONT, you can either draw: Energy, energy retrieval, junk arm, fisherman. The 4 junk arm lets you lower the other trainers (pluspower, energy retrieval) down a bit.

Also IMO opinion use tepig15 and pignite 17

@golferboy

Why do you prefer them? What I see is that the opposite ones discard for more power and have more HP. What do you think?

well the tepig beause you need 1 energy to attack and the pignite to build up the emboar then scoop it up for the energy to put it on the resh.

bump. Please help w/ some decklists guys! P.S. @Golferboy, I just printed out the proxies for the cards you suggested. On to testing!

dude I wouldn't run typhlosion...would take too long to set up that and emboar. just do reshiram (as main attacker) emboar w/ ability (to teck reshiram) and ninetales w/ roast reveal (for draw power/set up)...

that's the "reshiboar" deck, and it would be way faster than reshiram/emboar/ninetales/typhlosion.
