First Cards from “Battle Partners” Revealed!

I wonder what they'll do for the Iono's Wattrel promo in english..
I doubt they would do another milk carton product. Maybe the ETB Promo?

And yet those were all shit.
imagine any other pokemon getting as disproportionate representation as A-Vulpix has gotten (over even its own evolution) and having its fans still whine for more. if i had been presented with the surprise Onix-GX and then complained that it was not good enough because Brock was in the artwork but didn't have his shirt off or something exactly as trivial and started demanding more like it's something i'm owed. personally, i would just be happy that a non fully-evolved pokemon i like got anything special at all!

I realise my previous reply was a bit short, but I was on my phone so allow me to explain why Silver Tempest was sad and why I am already a little bummed about this set.

During the trainer gallery era of SWSH, we had what were essentially trainer's Pokemon. They didn't have the name, but were either associated or assumed. Starmie V featured Misty, Pikachu V/VMAX featured Red etc.

Now for Silver Tempest, Alolan Vulpix by some freak of nature accident got a V and a VMAX, and featured in a set named Silver Tempest, alongside that running theme as mentioned above. It by all accounts should have received the trainer gallery treatment... but it didn't.

When Battle Partners was introduced and Lillie featured I thought "hell yeah, another chance for an Alolan Vulpix illustration rare of sorts". But it would seem it is based on in game teams as opposed to other media.

I know some cards are starved of releases, but you can have a Pokemon focused as well and be disappointed with the line up. For me, that is what Alolan Vulpix is. It could have had something awesome for my collection that I wanted but yeah.

This all stems from the fact that Alolan Vulpix is up there in my top 10 favourite Pokemon of all time and I just want an illustration rare, special illustration rare or promo featuring it with an artwork I love, and if it featured Lillie it would be a cherry on the top!

N’s setup to attack looks very solid but I’m not at all confident in its attack lineup so far. The only Pokémon we can still infer upon are evos from what we’ve seen.

Iono seems solid enough for setup between its acceleration and Miraidon ex, but we need to get a good picture of how far hitting for 230 gets after rotation, or what other attackers can do. Very good stadium in general too, nonetheless.

Lillie’s tool card is teetering on being really advantageous and borderline meme material depending on what else we get in the set. Comfey is an ok starter, but we need to see the full lineup.

So far, most confident in Iono stuff and hoping N can turn it around.

I laughed at N's PP Up and then realized. It's an omni-patch.

This means you can actually commit 2-2 Trade Zoroark ex in Raging Bolt. With this item. And you would have a shitload of reacceleration potential. Oh god.

oh brother

I fear that these Owner’s Pokemon cards might be a bit too specific, and cause the metagame to have little variation in attackers simply because the archetypes of the Owners only have a couple Pokemon that support each one

nah raging bolt is still better with teal mask. Teal masks only take up 4 deck slots while running a zoraork package required 8 and multi turn setup.

A bit scared of this too but looking back at how the Mew Vmax deck evolved with basically only one set of true support, hopefully there's enough outside options that trainer decks can use to spice up their game plans.
