Pokemon First 'Pokemon GO' In-Game Event for Halloween!

If this higher candy rate would stick around I'd be happy about that. I don't like having to catch 50 of the same pokemon just to evolve and power up only one of them. Awful mechanics like that(and also missing/broken mechanics...) made me stop playing.
 
I do need a lot more Gastly... Plus, I'm really close to my next Charizard, so I'll take to opportunity to get my estimated CP 2147 Charizard.
 
It's a baby step of a baby step forward back to the media giant it was back in the summer along with it being a good game... I guess. Though this could be a sign they're bringing in Gen 2 Pokemon as Gen 2 has more Thanksgiving and Christmas specialish Pokemon then Gen 1. (Though if they brought in Gen 2 Pokemon just because of the Holidays, that would be kind of.... greedy.)
 
I only caught about 40 Drowsee the other day when I went to Mall Of America. Unfortunately no good Pokemon actually spawn near me so the event won't help me much.
 
I just caught a random Drowzee, and I noticed, IT GAVE ME 6 CANDIES! Then I found a Cubone, which I didn't have. Then 2 minutes later, a Marowak spawned. So Cubone and Marowak spawns must have gotten increased also.
 
So far, this event has taken off to a GREAT start. I live in a pretty small town area, in the boonies I guess you'd say, and I've caught at least 5 ghastly and a haunter, as well as a bunch of Meowth, Cubone, and a Marowak. My friends closer to the city have pages of ghastly and several Haunter and Gengar.

Also! They've also raised the chances for finding Meowth, Cubone, and Marowak! I wonder why they didnt advertise it?

Hah, I was wondering if that was a part of the update, too. I've caught 3-4 Cubone today and 2 Meowth, and previously I'd only ever caught 1 Meowth and my only Cubone was from an Egg. I've also caught a Haunter and 4-ish Gastly, so overall I'm very pleased with how this event is going. I'm still a pretty lazy/casual player overall, but it's given me a reason to load it up for the next couple days, so I'm happy.

I think they did increase the rates for those 3. I caught like 3 Marowak today, and a gazillion Cubones.

Still haven't been able to find a Gastly, Haunter or Gengar though :(

Drowzee and Hypno definitely increased for me!
 
When I woke up yesterday morning, I had a single Meowth from a lucky early find, a single Cubone from an egg, and 2 Gastly (one early find, and one that I stumbled across the previous week). Today I have Meowth, Persian, Cubone, Marowak, Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, and a bunch of extra candies for all. Thanks to the candy increase for buddy Pokémon, I've also been able to evolve one of my Sandshrew into a Sandslash and currently working on my Bulbasaur.
 
This is great for the game! My friends and I are pumped about this promotion - I've caught a couple of Gengar and more Cubone in two days than I've seen in six months. I'm transferring everything I'm not needing for the candy bonus, too. Seasonal promotions are definitely nice and making me hopeful for what Christmas can bring!
 
I'm already sick of Gastly taking the role of Zubat lately. I've caught 3 Gengar, but they all suck. But I'll tolerate it so long as these candies keep coming with rapid speeds.

Yeah they have, I've never found Cubone or Marowak in my area but I've caught quite a few in the last few days.

Thankfully the Drowzee encounter rate wasn't increased near me it seems; they were already v. common! And I am thankful for the extra candies - my buddy Charmeleon will hopefully get me enough to get my Charizard FINALLY by the time the event is over.
