Five New EX Boxes in the Fall!

Well this is interesting, first off, why did they pick the "bad" versions of the Mewtwo Ex, and Charizard Ex, also they picked probably the worst ex to pull Kangaskan Ex. But I'm ok with the Dragonite Ex and the Gengar Ex.

The Mewtwo is "new". (It's an art that Japan got a while back, but we didn't have yet.) That would explain why Mewtwo's here. It and Gengar (if and only if it's actually a promo, I still doubt the non-Mewtwo ones are) are the only ones I really understand. They might just exist as more Gen 1 nostalgia products. That, or all of them actually ARE promos, and they wanted to put these cards back into the format for some reason. (Which, again, Gengar is the only one that particularly makes sense to me. I guess Dragonite's kinda playable. But Kangaskhan and Charizard certainly shouldn't have been priorities.)
 
Its good that Gengar is getting attention back, and for the alternate Charizard EX from Flashfire. To be honest and I think I speak for a lot of people they most likely wanted the other Charizard EX. Dragonite is good I have been wanting to build a deck around him so I can stock up in a way for him. Kangaskhan EX isn't bad, but I don't see much use for him to be honest maybe his first attack lets you draw 3 cards its a setup more than anything. Mewtwo is gonna be cool to open. Can't wait!
 
Question. Is there such a huge draw for the jumbo cards? I wish they'd put out a few more boxes with playmats.

I mean, everyone at the league challenge will know something is up when I unload 4x copies of Jumbo Gengar!
 
So I don't know if anyone has looked at these in the stores but Charizard and Dragonite have their Flashfire and Furious Fists Set Numbers: Except the Mewtwo which is a promo these are all Promos that are not Standard Legal Cards. Straight up Expanded Reprints.

Pokemon Company you have no excuse now get that Shaymin EX box going now! They will sell and you know it.
 
Ok I'm curious about something. Dragonite EX has the Furious Fists number 74/111. And this set is not standard legal. But if you go to the pokemon.com TCG Data Base, it says that THIS Dragonite EX is standard legal. The description of the box says "Promo Dragonite EX" but I can't find concrete information that this Dragonite is actually Standard legal besides The Official Pokemon Website... so who's right or wrong here? Is it legal or not?

it is not standard legal, as it is a direct reprint of the FFI one
