ACtually, no, it's the last five sets or so. Personally, I can't remember what the current number of DP-styled sets are up yet, but anything after Diamond and Pearl is legal.
Ya, a little bit but my friend just got me hooked on pokemon. I personally think it takes a bit more skill than magic did. Magic is more of just throw a bunch of cards together that all have the same skills and abilities and get a bunch of rare cards because they're more powerful.
Don't get me wrong from what I've seen thus far rares in pokemon are extremely good as well but I just feel like I have many more options available with all the searches it makes me feel more in control of the game.
