Well, it's the advertising rule.

And its not because I want to like throw out support for different sites or anything like that, I just feel that what you put in your signature should be free. I mean, its not like zillions of people are clicking them anyways, so what's the harm of it? I think that people should be able to do what they want with thier signatures. Not innapropiate pictures, or huge walls of text, or anything stupid like that, but links to other pokemon forums are pretty harmless, at least to me. I'm not wasting my time at pokesunrise, am I?
Sunrise isn't a site anymore. :p But at least that means that the links work.

If I have a concern with a rule, one in particular, would talking to a S. mod about it have a chance at getting it changed? I don't want to waste my time.

We can't guarantee anything will be changed considering the Rules just went up. You're free to talk about what you don't like in a respectable fashion.

Yeah, I agree with aggiegwyn about links in sigs, here's a post of mine from another thread,

What is the reasoning behind banning Pokemon forum links from signatures?

Items in signatures do not influence discussion and do not lead to spam and rulebreaking. PokeBeach in general seems to be very lax about what can be included within signatures (such as the plethora of terrible MLP gif sigs). Additionally, PokeBeach evidently supports small forums through the existence of the PokeBeach Groups section.

Just seems very backwards to me?

@xxashxx: I think you misunderstood my post, I'm talking about links in signatures. What you have in your signature does not add to anything you might discuss within a thread. You cannot derail the thread topic by what is in your signature.

@6-D: I understand that point, but if people post recklessly to advertise their signature then surely these people are already in violation of a pre-existing rule (don't spam). And if they post without spamming it's not a problem. I also understand that situations are not exactly this clear cut and that people may be reducing post quality but not enough to avoid a warning. But if this quality is deemed unfit for PokeBeach (as evidenced by the existence of this new rule), then it's the spam rule which needs to be enforced on a more strict basis.

Maybe there's something I'm missing here though? Also please ignore that part about supporting small forums, just noticed they all seem to have been removed from the OPs of the group threads too.

The new rules look very neat and tidy, nicely done guys. :)

Question about advertising now we can't advertise certain sites or anything in our signatures unless it has 5,0000 members? Do you mean directly linked or do you mean just pasted links where the user has to copy and paste the links? In my profile I have the other boards I am on but they are not direct links. Pokemon Secure does background checks and looks for things like this when the do their checks so that is why the links are there. However do you guys mind if it is left the way they are? They are not parsed or anything but the links are typed on my profile and are not blue. I hope they can be left there as they are not harming anything. Thanks.:)

Am i the only one who thinks reading the rules is fun. Anyways I like the rules. I understand about advertising but the warning is too large. Can someone explain to me how to lower a warning level.

However I might add to this. If you get another warning your level does go up but when a previous warning expires then your warning level decreases to the previous warning points of the most recent warning points. For example if you already have a spam count of 40% and is set to run out tomorrow then you make a mistake and get another spam cout of 40% then it will be at 80% but only until the previous warning wears out then it will be 40% until that warning wears off.:)

Okay so how long does it take to expire.

Mines is for not saying banned because in the banned game yielding a 20% warning level.

To check click user CP and it will show any active warnings if any at the time. It will also show expired warnings if you have an active warning. If you don't have any warnings then nothing will show. However if you get a warning in the future all your expired warnings will show also. Not sure how many expired ones it takes for a ban though. Some sites count expired warnings toward a ban. Like if you have 10 expired warnings you would be banned on the 11th even though it was a minor offense. I am not sure if this site does that but might be considered in the future if this site does not do that yet.:(

That particular one has an expiratory date of two weeks.

Anyone see this post yet? Does anyone mind if I leave my websites on my Profile. They are not direct linked in blue so is it ok to leave them like they are? I don't want any warnings so I need to know. Thanks XD. I hope they are ok. Thanks.:)

Ok, I got rid of the other posts because I was initially confused on this myself lol.

Forums: You can link to/mention Forums in Profiles/Sigs if they have over 5,000 members. You cannot if they have less.

Sites: You can post links to Sites if they have relevant information (and you include a quote, we don't have the information already). The Sites cannot be in Profiles/Sigs.

I hope this clears up any confusion because I bet there was a lot of it in no part to me.

What's the difference between a "Forum" and a "site"?

Forums: http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/index.php

Site: http://pokebeach.com/

This is just an example. You could apply it to any site that has a Forum as well.

A site would be something like Google. A forum would be something like www.example.com/forums where the main content is forum based.:ninja

So if I link to the main page of a forum like Neoseekers Homepage or Pokemon Secures homepage it will be fine? I never link directly to the forums unless that is the only link like PC forums has. The others are the main pages XD.:)

Can't link to/mention main sites in the Profile, sorry. Gonna have to be Forums with more than 5,000 members or nothing at all.

OK the sites I have listed are Serebii PC Forums and Neoseeker. However since Neoseeker has 43,000 guests and roughly 500 members can I leave Neoseeker as it is a very big site. Let me know if I can keep Neoseeker there. Thanks.:)

Wow, I'm really enjoying the fact that they're up at the top there. It's very convenient. And the new rules are nice and reasonable. Good job Pokebeach staff!
