Ruling Full Flame Stadium card from Legend Makers

This is a card that causes burn and does 40 damage when burned and not 20. Does a coin still need to be flipped between turns as with any other burn special condition to determine whether there is any burn effect at all?

I hope I'm being clear with my question. We understand the difference in normal burn damage and the burn damage amount this card causes, but the conflict arouse when the person playing the card said there is no coin toss involved when this stadium card is played it does 40 burn damage everytime, no matter what.

I am Mom of a Pokemon League and tournament player (I also am a beginning Pokemon TCG player myself) and this card caused some conflict at League yesterday and we are looking for someone to help with clarification.

Yes, you still flip a coin. The card isn't THAT broken.

I think there was a Rapidash that had the same power as the stadium did awhile ago. Basically when someone is burned, if the coin comes up tails, then the burned Pokemon takes 40 damage instead of the usual 20. You don't apply weakness or resistance for the damage taken, like normal.

We heard form a Pokemon friend today that one of her children played this at a City Championship last weekend in Massachusetts, and the judge said exactly what you've said here. It is still in need of a coin flip to be burned and if it is a burn special condition the damage is 40 instead of 20 but if coin flip says no burn, then no damage at all.

Rapidash FR/LG if I remember correctly. Sadly it's attacks didn't work very well. Too bad...

Arcanine out.

You could also use it with Arbok δ for a quick poision and burn, and Typhlosion from UF or DF.

Swalot is also pretty fast if used correctly as another example of Burning a Pokemon.
