I remember watching an interview with the voice actor of Brock, who just so happened to be the voice of Seto Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh...he said that was one of his favorite lines.

I find that motto funny, especially since Ash SUCKS at using defensive Pokémon, like poor Torterra.
 
Whenever anybody mentioned "professor ivy" and brock would teleport to a corner shattered in depression.
