Discussion Garbodor SUMO 2 paired with...?

I think Volcanion provides a perfect example of this. Beyond trading baby Volcanion against Trash Cans, I think you will also see Entei come back as a tech for these decks (it already is for a number of lists) simply to give the deck one more positive trade that hits like a truck with minimal energy attachments. It is only one example, but I think it will become a somewhat common question: what big basic can I add to get a positive trade and force Garb to essentially take 7 prizes.

Not such which entei we talk about. But this is the main idea here in general. Another alternative would be to use one or two Steam ups and attack with Turtonator GX's Shell Trap with Bursting Balloons attached. If the opponent cannot switch out the defender attacking them will ohko them too. This could be effective if Turtoinator GX remains alive after an assault. Aqua Box could be another option if it is able to find a means to maintain set up speed without having to use Shaymin EX. If it uses Shaymin Ex Garbodor decks hunt Shaymin Ex with its assistance attackers and focus on Lapras GX with Garbodor. Another beenfit of Aqua Box is that it has access to Articuno AT ;).

Ha! I was wondering if you would bring up Articuno AT! I do agree that it is a great splash card against this particular kind of deck regardless of my personal hatred for the card LOL! But yeah, that's basically what I am saying too. I think the more likely counter is a hard hitting non EX/GX big basic rather than slowing down a deck by not using the items. It won't work every time and it is like playing Russian Roulette, but I think you need to overpower the deck quickly if possible. If not, you are in trouble :D

FYI, this is the Entei I am referencing :)

There's way too many things for me to quote and, quite frankly, I'm over this conversation. The only reason I bothered posting was because I felt like Pidgey Boy was misrepresenting something that already has results, but if you all feel that he's correct, by all means. I'll state what I personally believe and I'm leaving it at that.

So, long story less long... Garbodor is going to be a strong deck. Japan has shown it and, face it, their Meta isn't incredibly different from ours. At a minimum, they have data showing what this deck can do against stuff we currently play, so take that in to consideration. How much it shapes our Meta is based on how much we decide to play the deck and, quite frankly, who decides to play it. I personally think it'll be strong because it's an easy deck to pilot and it does have plenty of resources to spare.

Both builds are good. Eeveelutions allow you to OHKO things the straightforward build simply does not at the cost of consistency. I personally feel Tapu Lele GX plays a big role in this deck and this Meta and I feel the card will go a long, long way. I think if we're going to beat Garbodor, we're going to have to figure out how to get around its ability to utterly stomp decks that use multiple items, which most likely means we will no longer be using those decks. That, or we all whine to TPCi and we get Garbodor banned, which I don't feel is necessary, but I don't speak for everyone.

Regardless, good luck.

Hey, not Pidgey boy, it's Pidgey man. It took years to put on all this fat. Lots of training went into it.
