Garchomp Altaria (New to Competitive TCG)

Diet

In a dilemma
Member
Hello everybody. I am new here, and new to competitive TCG. I decided to construct a deck for Autumn Regionals with the Dragons Exalted Deck. It would be nice if I could get some rates.
P.S. Will the Gible and Gabite from Garchomp Half Deck be released in U.S.? Will it be in the Garchomp Theme Deck? I know there is no way to know 100%, but some speculation would be nice. :)

This is BW-on.

4x Gible (Half Deck)
3x Gabite (Half Deck)
4x Garchomp (Dragons Exalted)
3x Swablu (Dragons Exalted)
3x Altaria (Dragons Exalted)
2x Emolga (Dragons Exalted)
1x Rayquaza (Dragons Exalted) (maybe)

4x Professor Juniper (Dark Explorers)
4x N (Dark Explorers)
3x Cheren (Dark Explorers)

4x Pokemon Catcher (Emerging Powers)
4x Level Ball (Next Destinies)
3x Rare Candy (Dark Explorers)
2x Pokemon Communication (Black and White)
2 (possibly 3) x Super Rod (Black and White?)
3x Switch (Black and White?)

7x Fighting Energy {F} (Any set)
4x Blend Energy ({L}, {W}, {M}, {F}) (Dragons Exalted)

Strategy (for those who do not know xD): T1 Emolga, Gible, Swablu, T2 Level Ball Gabite, Ability for Altaria, T3 Garchomp, attach fighting energy, Mach Cut for 60. (Goal)

Little Explanation: 4-3-4 and 3-3 is obvious. 2 Emolga for T1. Rayquaza is good in general; 1 energy for 40, increased by Altaria.
No Bianca, since there is no Ultra Ball, and Ultra Ball would be risky. Pokemon Catcher is obvious; Level Ball for everything save Garchomp. Rare Candy for the possibility of T2 Garchomp. Communications to look for pokemon. Super Rod for dead Chomps/Altaria and if you use Garchomp's 2nd attack. Switch since you should save energy.

Thank you for your time.

I would take out rayquaza because we don't even know if it will be in the next set and it really isn't all that great. I would add in another emolga in place. If you wanted to add in something else I'd go with either a swablu or super rod.

@Your Master Thanks! I put Rayquaza in because it's basic, 40 damage for 1 electric, KO'ing Tynamo. However I didn't know about if it will be in the next set or not. I'd rather not get another Emolga because if you draw into one lategame while you're in a tight spot doesn't help. xD I'll try Super Rod. =)

Nope, if Rayquaza is in the next set, you play him. He is good for a turn 1 ko on Tynamo, Swablu, Gible, and Deino (Dragon type). Plus people forget that if you have out a pair of Alrarias, he can ko Garchomp and Hydreigon. He is searchable via Gabite so getting into play quickly and attacking is not an issue. If he is in DREX, you play him, no doubt about it.

You need more draw supporters for consistency!

so

-2 Pokemon Communication (You just need level ball to set up Dragon Call and you'll get your Dragon pokemon from that ability)
+2 Bianca or +2 Random Receiver

btw it is wrong to say that since you arent using ultra ball then you can't use Bianca. If you see yourself using most of the cards in your hand then eventhough you dont use ultra ball Bianca still fits well into your deck....
