Garchomp-EX Box in April [2/11]

Didn't think much of this at first, but with altaria and muscle band, you could be hitting magic numbers in no time. It's also not weak to dragon so the usual counters won't work as well.

That artwork looks almost identical with the one from Garchomp C Lv. X...

So what's up with all the bad EXs? Maybe TPCi is trying to fix the power creep from BW?

Anywho, the card looks pretty cool, but I doubt that I will pick up the box.

The bad ones seem to be non legendaries. The only two legendaries from X and Y were Xerneas and Yveltal, and they had the strongest EXes of the set.

I don't mind it myself. I think EXes were too overpowered in the past. These new ones are still strong (just being high HP basics is good enough) without being broken.

Exactly. It's good they're de-powering the meta.

It's not really bad. Have two Altaria in play and attach a band, and that is a monster.
 
Hmm, I forgot that Altaria gave +20 to attack, not +10. Might actually be decent, should be able to hit 160-180 easily enough. Just needs something decent for acceleration. It DOES use Water energies, so I guess Blastoise could be an option, might seem a bit awkward though.
 
I think it is safe to say we will get mega Garchomp. Its just a bad EX. Blastoise and Altaria wont help him too much IMHO.

There's always Victini EX for acceleration.

Oh come on, they're totally different. The Lv. X is jumping out to the right (our side), and the EX is jumping out to the left. How are they identical in any way?

I forgot this worked with Altaria. Muscle Band + 1 Altaria gives you an average of 70 with Dual Chop turn 2. Possibly with Fliptini, this card might be pretty solid for early pressure. If we do get a Mega Garchomp, this will definitely be the best evolving EX we've had so far.

EDIT: Does it bother anyone else that the second attack is named Power Blast, when the attack has a different draw back than Tornadus EX's Power Blast? I know the only difference is a coin flip, but I would've thought they'd come up with something different. Even just Something Blast, or Power Something would be fine. But nope; same name.

I still always liked that Garchomp C Lv.X though, so I'm pretty excited for the card. I will definitely be purchasing it. Hopefully it doesn't cost too much.
 
If I would get the box, it would mainly be because of the Jumbo size card..
I got my first Jumbo cards a couple of days ago (Xerneas & Yveltal) and they're amazing !

I was there today and noticed them. I got one as well :D It seems that Wal-mart doesn't strictly follow the release dates for some items. The Yveltal/Xerneas tins were made available before the release date as well.
