How do you approach the Metagross matchup? As a Gardevoir user myself, I find it impossible to win that matchup.

I think you have to play 4 N. I would not enter super competitive tournaments w/o Lele, bc you are in rough shape agaisnt mirror b/c lele can save you in some games. I understand it is crazy expensive which makes it extremely tough but its necessity for this deck since it utilizes such energy acceleration. Comfey isnt great b/c it easy guzma target. Everyone is going to play 3 or maybe 4 guzma and seeming less likely special conditions are going to play huge role. If they do I drather find space for 2 Chaos tower.
Id rather take out
2x fairy garden, 1 Dianci,1 Oranguru, 2 xKoko
and replace with 3 float stone, 1-1 Octilery, 1 N

I don't play in major tournaments (yet), just my local card shop holds one every week or so. Also the only reason why I don't play Lele is the price. C'mon, £40?
That's enough to put newbies off the game altogether.

No I defintiely undertsand and didnt mean any disrespect by what I said. I luckily pulled one and and bought another for 30 before price spiked. In long run I think you should invenst in atleast 2 for the deck but you could def grind at locals for packs and see if you can pull it. I am just not fond of random reciever as you arent likely to get the one you want.

Personally I'd remove:

- 1 Fennekin, Braxien and Delphox. It's just too clunky and awkward.
-2 Tapu Koko Promo. I feel this isn't very needed, especially if you add the things I suggest in a moment.
-1 Oranguru. It's just not very good in this deck.
-1 Acerola. I think it would be better off as a 1-of.
-1 Brigette. Kind of the same situation as Acerola. You only need 1.
-2 Random Receiver. I know Lele is expensive. But pretty much every deck needs Lele, especially Gardevoir decks.
-2 Fairy Garden. With the things I suggest in a moment, not needed.
-2 Choice Band. Originally I thought that in theory, this would work great in Gardevoir. It's fine in Gardevoir, but I don't think it needs it. This is also to remove some space to add some other cards.

And I'd add:

+1 Diance, to increase your chances of starting with it. Setting up is much easier with Diance.
+1-1 Octillery line. Octillery has great draw support in the post-rotation format.
+1 Professor's Letter. It's really good in this deck and I think it's pretty self explanatory.
+2 Skyla. In most cases to grab a Prof. Letter or a Rare Candy.
+3 Float Stone. Much better way to retreat your Pokemon around.
+1 Super Rod. It's like another Rescue Stretcher, but it can get basic energies too.
+1 Fairy Energy. Doesn't need much explaining.
+3 Tapu Lele. I know. I know. It's expensive, but pretty much all decks in the format need 2-3 Lele. Lele is especially important in Gardevoir. You could Instead to +2 Lele +1 N (nice to have another N) or another remoraid (higher chance of getting an Octillery set up).

You said you don't play in major tournaments at the moment, and that you play at a local card shop. Ask whoever's in charge if they allow proxies. Proxies are great in casual play environments to help new players really learn the game and test things out and what-not.

Hope this helped.

Remove Choice Bands (not needed, you can easily OHKO w/out it) for 2 Policies to beat metagross

Tools with passive effects aren't that reliable because of Field Blower, despite the help Weakness Policy provides against Metagross. That, and Weakness Policy is very matchup-specific, meaning it's useless against all other decks.

I use it, won 2-0 against Gross (they used both blowers to knock them out, then I used Twilight to get them back), If you're not against Gross just use them as Ultra Ball fodder

That's personal preference, IMO. It's up to the OP to include them or not, depending on space; I personally wouldn't.
