...If you want to.

-What things keep you from doing art, or, what things do you not like about your own art?

Hey LORDY, what es el typing of the next Fakemon guy?
I SWEAE IL DO ITT THIS TIMME
I'm gonna draw a picture of Android.
He's on a Wax track.
He doesn't actually exist.
Most people think he's Dumbfoundead with a voice effect.
But I'll draw what I think he looks like.
Maybe.

I don't like my strokes. They seem good from far back, but are actually craggy as craggy can be.
I also don't like my colouring. It's ok, but I can do better.
Thus, I use Paint.NET for my best works, and scan my sketches.

I dislike my hands. And sometimes my faces. I can't shade (or ink), that good. It it wasn't for those three I would be pretty decent.
Things that keep me from doing art is laziness.

Plus, I need a new camera. The pictures that my old one takes isn't good.

EDIT: and arms.

I am incredibly lazy, which keeps me from art a lot.

I dislike how two dimensional my characters are, and I'm working on that.
I also wish I was better with a tablet, some people's tablet drawings look so natural, while mine are so shaky and obviously done on a computer.
Also my coloring could use some work
And I hate how I draw myself constantly but it still doesn't really look like me.

Oh.
The worst thing about my art is how little there is of it. That sounds all cocky, but that's not how I mean it. Anyway, I mention a lot how unmotivated I am. That's true. I only draw when I have a really quality idea. And I only get really good ideas when someone who gives them to me or I dream something cool that I happen to remember.
Or I have something specific in mind to draw. And that's just something I should get out of, because I'm getting worse and worse at getting my own ideas. So yeah. I just need to draw more, I guess.
Other than that, in my actual art, I have a very tough time coming up with poses. Not so much interpreting a pose, but actually coming up with one. That's especially apparent with the Pokemon I draw; their poses are very static and often similar to the official art or sprite.
Another thing I do it constantly screw up my inking, and making it way worse when I try to just incorporate the ink into the piece.
Yepyep.

I have a tough time with thinking up poses as well.
He guys I left my sketch book at my dad's house, so I won't have any of the already drawn requests or trades done so soon.

Oh, are your parents split up or something? Sorry to hear (read) that.
Well, do you know when you're getting it back?

Oh, and by the way, I almost identically copy Sugimori poses, too. My only originals aren't very good.

Yeah, aint no thing though.
I'll hopefully be able to get over there by tomorrow.
I forgot a number of things.
Heat stroke doesn't really let you move, or think.

Well it was heat stroke combined with lack of sleep, because I've gotten a maximum of six hours of sleep a night all this week.
But yeah. It's hot, and the first thing I did when I woke up at 10 was walk to Hastings with Vulpix Yolk and Sol.

Art.

I have to draw:

  • A Fat Asian Gangster
  • A Picture for the color Black (Black Scythe)
  • A Picture for the color Green (Green Emerald)
  • Another one of my OCs

Lack of motivation/ creative ideas is one cause. That seems to be common though xP
TV/ internet distractions. I could make art, or I could check GDI and talk about how I am not making art and should.
Work. I've been really busy with work lately. So when I do have time not working, I just want to sleep or sit. And I am baby sitting tonight. It doesn't end haha.

I want to do a Nuzlock too, it sounds fun.

Oh and what I don't like about my art: I can't draw feet very well. Or people in general, for that matter. I generally avoid them. And when I do draw them I make them cartoony so people will be like "Yeah the feet/ face/ hands on this suck, but the picture isn't meant to be realistic so it is okay!"
Also, I don't like how my art doesn't have a distinct style. So lately I have been trying to establish a certain drawing style for me. You know, to make myself more distinguished, I guess.

Well, I suck at lineart, and the heads are to big, and waists are to small. Oh, and my colors are stupid.

And, the things I own aren't trustworthy. My laptop, scanner, tablet...GIMP...

Nothing works. ;_;

And the things that keep me from doing art are...almost everything. Maybe it's one of my four siblings, or three parents, or school, or something like that.

I have that problem too. I think all of us might.
Do iiiiit, it would be funny if all the art kids were doing nuzlockes out of nowhere.

I need to find my gameboy first. And I am not sure what game to do it on... Maybe Soul Silver. I haven't played that in a while.

Haha a sudden surge in art kid Nuzlockes xD

@shampoo- the problem with style was mine for a very long time. I thought I was original, because when I was a kid no one drew manga, as I did. But by the time I got to eighth grade and was still drawing stupid kids with spiky purple hair and swords too large for their scrawny arms, I realized that lots of people drew manga. Lots. It took a lot of work to find my style as an artist. Even now I kinda struggle with that; my art is stuck between NastyJungle and older LORDY's stuff and the stuff at Knocksteady, but not as good as any of them.

@aggie- Your linart is definitely not bad, nor is your coloring. But if you feel that way about your art, do some looking into color schemes. I don't do much coloring, but simple stuff like compliments and contrasts can work wonders. More advanced color schemes, triadic, monochromatic, etc., can really make your art look professional.

My style -while I swear to god I invented it myself with influences like KC Green, George Herriman, Kate Beaton, Taiyo Matsumoto, etc.- Really just looks like a rip off of nastyjungle, kmain, or paczkipie depending on what I'm drawing. Only again, not as good.

LORDY, I love your style. I think it is great. 6D, I haven't seen enough of your art to judge your style yet. I'll creep your dA page at some point.

Who is this 'NastyJungle' I keep hearing about?
