I can't decide whether to play Gechamp for BRs. Do you guys think it will be worth it if I come up against an SP deck? To be honest all the people who are going to our Battle Roads apart from 1 person are playing a non-SP deck as far as I know.

What do you guys think?

You pretty much answered your own question.

If you're playing in a metagame that isn't full of SP, then you're basically playing against a field that wrecks you. Machamp can't take out and loses to every other stage 2 deck, and Gengar is an autoloss to Flygon and anything that's prepared for it. The only reason Gechamp's popularity rose was because of the outcome of Japan's national championships. Though Japan was predominately SP in metagame, thus giving Gechamp(w/Relicanth) an easier field to play against.

So, if your area is deprived of SP's and is full of decent/good players, Gechamp is not the play.

Well actually a guy that lives in my area created the deck before states. It's very inconsistent too. There's better choices out there.

Are there any decks which you guys think are a good option? I not asking for decklists!

I also forgot to mention that the SP player is the best in my age group ATM.

Agreed. Most evolution decks will come across some sort of sub-par setup over the course of a tournament run, Palkia capitalizes on that bad setup.

Agreed.
But if you can go second you SHOULD be able to nab an early lead on Legos w/ Take out.
Just try to make it consistent and DON'T depend on coinflips.

It can be consistent. It depends on the build. However I would suggest against it as it isn't that effective in this metagame.
