It's pretty obvious that the next Pokemon game will be Pokemon Z, or something of the sort, but what after? Will we be getting the next Gen of Pokemon, or will be getting the thing every Gen 3 Fanboy/Fangirl (including myself) has wanted ever since Gen 2 was remade, the Pokemon R/S (or maybe just Emerald) remakes! I was wondering what you guys think should come next, whether it be the next Gen of Pokemon, remakes of Gen 3, or anything else you guys think could come in the future! I personally would really love to have Gen 3 remade, just think of having the secret bases in 3D! Oh and the epic gyms, vast ocean, contests, Battle Frontier, and the sweet scene when Rayquaza descends from the sky to tell Groudon and Kyogre to stop dicking around... But honestly none of that matters if we have 3D SECRET BASES!! It was also be a great opportunity to have the rest of the Gen 3 starters get a Mega Evo.

Apparently, the Pokemon company doesn't really care for the 3rd generation since it almost ruined the franchise (money-wise), so its possible that they want to avoid it. Personally, I would like to see them made. I've never played Hoenn, but I would like to experience what everyone says is so great haha

Personally, I thought the generation 3 games had the most replayability from the long routes and neat little things like the trick house and such. I'd love a g3 remake, but I admit It's unlikely. I still have my fingers crossed and will be hoping for it...until a g4 remake comes out. Then all hope is lost. xp

If a g3 remake never happens, I do hope at least they bring back some of the things I thought made g3 so rememberable (Contests, secret bases, pokeblock, underwater team base, the trick house. long routes.) in a future game/gen.

I liked gen 3, it was the first game (Ruby) I owned. I've been hoping for years, but still nothing ;.;

Where did you hear that? Ruby and Sapphire were the #1 best selling GBA games of all time and they were the second best selling video games in 2003. (USA) I'm pretty sure that Game Freak loves what the 3rd generation brought to the series and will hopefully do something awesome in terms of a 3rd gen remake.

What do I think? I believe that the next main series game will be Pokémon Z which will more than likely be released in 2015, hopefully before July. After that, I'm guessing and hoping for remakes of both Ruby and Sapphire. And if they follow tradition, they'll give them some clever title names. I know that my prediction is pretty generic, and that's probably what me might get. But let's hope that they blow our socks off with something super exciting and unexpected!

I wonder if it will be a single game remake instead of two. But that wouldn't make any sense but you wouldn't see it coming. And it'd have a cover with Groudon Kyogre and Rayquaza on it.

I don't see that happening but it'd be less predictable.

If they remake those games that gives them more time to prepare for Gen 7 and... more cards to make... more money to be spent... for me...

I would actually be slightly disappointed if we get a Pokemon Z because I don't want that at this point, and personally (in my opinion) anyone that supports the concept of just a third version at this point since B/W 2, especially if they want a third version for X/Y, is probably way too easy to please. While being great for competitive battles and all that - X/Y was the biggest disappointment of a game. It went by way too quickly, the EXP Share should have been reserved for post-game, and speaking of post-game, there isn't a lot to do, and it lacks a lot of daily stuff to keep you occupied. So no, I don't want to see a Pokemon Z, I'd buy it, but I still think on Game Freak's part it would be the most dimwitted thing to do after we've gotten B/W 2. B/W 2 impressed, it barely had any faults and was essentially perfect in that regard. X/Y wasn't even close to that, and it tried way too hard to cater to the Genwunners who still bashed X/Y anyway simply because it wasn't Kanto.

So no, We don't need a Pokemon Z, We need progress. As for the subject of a Hoenn Remake, it's clear something is up regarding other regions, as well as the possibility of a remake considering all the Hoenn they've been hyping in the anime lately. I love X/Y but even I can admit it's got some of the biggest faults. I look forward to another game, preferably a remake or some other kind of game that could be our "BW2" to X/Y.

I would really love a Hoenn remake. 3rd Gen got me back into Pokémon after a hiatus during 2nd gen and it's still one of my favourites in the series. I love the cheesiness of Team Magma and Team Aqua, I love the Contests, I love the Secret Bases, I love Diving, I love Mr. Briney and Peeko.

Partially because of that, I'd like to see Gen 6 stick around a bit longer. Some kind of sequel to X/Y akin to BW2 would be awesome, whether it's done as one game or two. Hoenn remakes. It just seems a bit too soon to be talking about Gen 7.

I don't see Generation 7 coming for a good, long while. I think it's pretty obvious which I'm betting on in the theoretical case that Gen 3 remakes will exist.

Though personally I don't care for either if Game Freak stay as incompetent as they are when it comes to optimization. I didn't know it was possible to release such a highly-anticipated title when it can still drop to sub-20 FPS. And that was WITH disabled 3D in most of the game!

I would love a gen 3 remake, and if we don't get it I just want secret bases back. Gosh I loved that feature and I suprised Nintendo didn't keep it in gen 4. Personally I don't think gen 4 needs a remake as much as gen 3 and 5. I always felt like Gen 5 had something missing and is (OPINION) my least desired game.

To sum it up

BRING BACK SECRET BASES!

I want a G3 because I only play'd an "emulation" of it, and not the real game. But, G7 would be cool too, but than..It need to be allot beter than Black/White 2: That was pretty worse.
But, I`m still hoping to get a Pokemon Game where you can go to all Regio`s: Kanto,Hoen,Johto,Unova,Kallos! :)

OK so being I got into Pokémon in Gen 3 and after I finished those games being like 6 at the time I went back and played gens 1 and 2 then gen 4 came out. But if there is no Gen 3 remake in 2015 or even 2016 then maybe were due for a remake of gen 1 again scenes it will be the 20 year anniversary of Pokémon in 2015. But gen 3 in my opinion and others who have posted was the best Pokémon games ever and if they remake it then I`m buying the anniversary addition. <if they have one :p> I say all this from what Athena, Dedenne and Axell have said.

I LOVED Generation 3's video games! If they don't remake them, I'll be a little devastated.

X/Y also give loads of shotouts to DP as well. lol What if they're planning to remake both of them and somehow tie them into the XY story line? lol Nahhh that'd be waaaaaay too much to soak in And it technically wouldn't be a remake, lol...more like a redo. And if the hoenn region were to somehow tie into the XY storyline that would tamper with the memories of the old game. And as much as I'd like an new hoenn adventure, I'd still want to enjoy the old version I used to play as a kid but in 3D form. Similiar to how I did with the FRLG/HGSS

lol Pokemon Sapphire X and Ruby Y. :'D

Generation 3 remakes would be amazing. I'm a huge fan of the region and loved all the new features we got that. The Secret Base is also one of the things I miss the most!

Saphire X and Ruby Y would be hilarious, haha! A remake with multiple regions! I don't see it happening, but I always wanted a master version where we could travel to all regions so far. The champions would be the playable characters of the region.

That said, I am also looking forward to generation 7 and want to know what's in store for us next.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that'll never happen. Gamefreak would have no reason to really make any other games after they do that, as they'd just be belittled by the one game with 6 or more regions.

We actually have a thread for that already; you can check it out and contribute here. :)

Generation wise, technically we would already be due for a Diamond and Pearl remake due to the fact that we are now in Generation 6 and believe it or not, Generation 4 was two generations ago..
But I want my Ruby and Sapphire remakes first! I could even see them doing a game where you go to both Hoenn and Sinnoh. That would fufill the hype for both Ruby and Sapphire remakes, as well as Diamond and Pearl remakes.

I personally would like a R/S remake first, before gen 7. I cant say I loved the Pokemon designs, since IMO most of them were terrible, but the region was fantastic! Seeing Hoenn remade in the same style as X/Y would definitely be a sight to behold!

I totally support the idea for a 3rd generation remake. The Secret bases where by far the most awesome feature (as long as they stay like they were and not like in Sinnoh, oh and they could be more widespread, with some in Dewford and Oldale). The plot was nice, the underwater bits were just amazing and brought a whole new level of exploration, the music is one of the bests, the abandoned ship was very cool and the whole Hoenn felt like one of the greatest regions (being able to visit Team Aqua's & Magma's hideout after their departure was also neat =p ), it featured the debut of Rangers, berry planting, Steve and Wally, Ever Grande was the best place for a League...oh, oh and the Regis quest was awesome and the use of braille was clever and useful since it taught me some of it. I LOOOOOOOVE IT!! =)

From what I read, XY was short so they might pull something like B(2)/W(2) and release Z but also release a Generation III remake before launching the 3DS sucessor (or first the remake and then Z).
