RE: Writer's Lounge

I need a magical way to get out of a cave type place that's another realm.

Anyone have any ideas?

RE: Writer's Lounge

If you're going for a simple deus ex machina, there's the usual portal exit trick.

RE: Writer's Lounge

Or you can teleport. Or walk into a wall, and find yourself out of the cave/somewhere. :)

RE: Writer's Lounge

Portals or wormholes are usually easy enough to use if it's a quick "magical" escape that you want to do. My character Canersia (who is, in essence, a sage) uses the latter by creating them with telekinesis.

RE: Writer's Lounge

Blast apart whatever is blocking the entrance with the power of the /gods/

That's what I'd do anyway.

RE: Writer's Lounge

Magical hmmm?

I got it, you make the character somehow find a pack that, has some dynamite, he blows the entrance up, but it doesn't work, then he finds he has the ability to pass through solid walls, that is how he gets out...

It's too magical isn't it?

RE: Writer's Lounge

I don't think anyone here is original. :/

lol My characters are gods :O

I should have given more story about what the plot was about. It was a city of Gods where the only entrance is too fall into a big pool of water. I spent about an hour and a half devising a place where they get out of the city and back into the real world, and eventually decided on some mythical elevators.

^lol that my friend is original, but I like my idea (Your crazy if you don't like your own idea)

This is the 21st century. There's almost no such thing as original ideas, especially in writing. Besides, I even admitted I was offering a deus ex machina, not to mention anyone here could have really given a great answer since you asked such a ridiculously generic question with so little background information.

RE: Writer's Lounge

^Actually he asked it to us is the problem...
Think about it in the WC people just spit out their ideas at you, I'd just ask someone with a lot of experience, and can write well (Apollo, Zyflair, DNA)

RE: Writer's Lounge

^I don't think even I could have offered up more than what I already did as far as ideas go. Even my own fiction with characters and plots of my own design can be broken down and looked up as spoofs of other ones if you take the time out to do that (as spoofs of what, though, I guess that's up for debate since I'm not even sure).

RE: Writer's Lounge

You think I can write well? You were joking, right?
Writing isn't my forte; critiquing is. I haven't written anything in months.

RE: Writer's Lounge

Oh, yes, DNA. Your writings are so terrible.

Actually, it's a good notch or so above mine, I thought. But, yeah, nobody really does better critiques than you, DNA (even my own suck in comparison).

RE: Writer's Lounge

Yeah, that's true, but I don't like getting mentioned for something I don't do all that much; it irritates me.

I was just looking for something that was a little out of the ordinary. I do admit though that I really should have been more specific and given more background information, there was not much to go off of at that point.

RE: Writer's Lounge

^No, being specific isn't your problem, a little back ground info would have been good though

@DNA
Dude your too modest!

OMG!
UU, I totally forgot about you D:
(Don't take this meanly please)

Hey, I need ideas as to how to kill someone for the Ultimate Games!
Any Ideas?

RE: Writer's Lounge

*you're

Also most of my characters die in epic battles to the death. Stuff like that is just too good in fantasy.

And you neglected to mention me as an awesome writer >:O
