Genesect EX revealed

*looks at card* Grass? o_O *remembers Genesect is part bug* Oh yah. Makes sense.

Metal matches it more but grass is soooo very very underused. Now it'll give people a reason to use all those grass energies they have lying around! Gotta say I was gonna blow off this set but that Genesect EX looks daaaaaaamn awesome. And I don't even like Genesect. :D

I dont care much for the game itself. I'd rather it be Metal because it suits it better. And who says that would be the only Grass type card that can be a counter anyway? We have a whole set left to be revealed. We could have potentially had Virizion fill that role.

This is a TCG which is a game. You may not care for the game but Genesect EX being Metal would be very broken for the game.

You people need to stop saying cards are "broken". I swear, every new card that comes out is "broken"....

And besides, I'm aware that its a game. But in the past, we've seen Pokemon take their secondary typing as their card type, so all I'm saying is that it would look nicer if they would have done it that way. I dont see how it would make anything broken. Like I said, something else could come along and kill off the Keldeo's. It didnt need to be Genesect.

Genesect EX as Metal type would be broken when paired with Plasma Klinklang. +4 Catcher and EX immunity? GG format.
Even as just a bench sitter that would let Cobalion EX wipe the floor with almost anything.
...
Alright, maybe I'm exagerating a bit. But you get the idea.

If you were aware and you cared, you would stop moaning as to why it's not Metal. People who actually play the game competitively know why Genesect needed to be Grass. Just because we know more about game balance than you doesn't give you the right to tell us off. Especially since you yourself said that you don't care about the game.

Killing off Keldeos was just a bonus for Grass Genesect. Keeper of Light already explained as to why Metal Genesect is broken especially with PlasmaKlang already having an army of already decent EX-Immune support.

Genesect EX could be the next Luxray GL Lv. X of the current format and next, where all you need is a Super Scoop Up to reuse Genesect EX's ability but at the same time unless you have a way to get around having to attach a Plasma Energy to him every time for it's ability in the process similiar to Dynamotor with Eels then he could be devastating.

It already seems like a much better counter to Blastoise/Keldeo than Shaymin EX anyway, since that deck is mostly weak to Grass so they would need to probably run Victini EX for Type Coverage or a different Big Basic Fire Type like I dunno Ho-Oh or Reshiram EX or maybe just regular Reshiram for Outrage unless you decide to tech in Prism Energy since Garchomp/Altaria is hardly played anymore?

I heard J-Wittz pointed out a Pokemon Myth on YouTube saying that Genesect was supposed to be a Kabutops that was transformed into a machine by Team Plasma so why Genesect isn't Rock/Water Type instead of Bug/Steel is still beyond me. Scizor wasn't good enough for you Game Freak? So you gave us a Legendary version of him instead? >_>

What, are you saying that Team Plasma modifying it couldn't have changed Kabutops' type to something completely different? If Genesect is a modified Kabutops (which I do believe is possible), why does it need to be Rock/Water? Or anything near that?

More to the point, attacking Grass-type EX = yes.

Well remember what Team Rocket did when they cloned Mew to create Mewtwo back in Generation 1 and Mewtwo was kept as a Psychic Type as Mew itself? I don't see why Team Plasma couldn't have done the same thing, I guess Kabutops sort of looks like a Bug even though it's Rock/Water, for all we know it could've been the biological ancestor of Scyther.

Genesect doesn't even have a similar body at all to Kabutops. His abdomen, legs, arms, head and thorax look nothing like its supposed original form.

Mew wasn't cloned nor did Team Rocket have anything to do with it, you're mixing the anime with the original material.

I've played competitively for a few years, so I do understand where you are coming from. I dont care for it much now, and that does affect my opinion, so I apologize for making it seem like current players are irrelevant. I'm really only telling off the people who throw the word "broken" around as if it applies to any dang card that is good in the format. In the years I've played, I've heard so many cards called broken, yet I've actually never seen anything that held up to that title. The only one I've seen was Sableye, which as we all know, helped cause the format to rotate early.

What I'm saying is that Genesect could have easily been Metal type. They could have done something different with its ability to keep it from being "broken" and it would have fit its characteristics much better. Aesthetically, it should be Metal. With its Ability, it makes sense why it shouldnt be Metal. It never needed to be Grass. Like I said, they could have filled the Grass role with a better Pokemon, like Virizion.

Does that help my case at all?

But you know, I'm happy we got a Genesect at least. I'm happy we got a new Pokemon as an EX, unlike the new Kyurem, which ISNT EVEN DRAGON TYPE.

Pretty cool-looking card. As of now, however, there isn't too much support for Grass-type Pokémon. Cherrim from Plasma Storm has 70 HP and is a weaker Potion. Other than that...I can't think of anything. I can see a pretty solid T2 100 if you can snag a Colress Machine (which isn't difficult with Skyla).

There's a whole set left to be revealed. Grass has been irrelevant for so long now.

Well, it's actually Klingklang that makes this card broken had it been steel but oh well.

Yeah, I'm talking about the new one, that they made a Dragon type. Oh well. They probably wont be making every legendary anyway.
