If you knock out your opponent's active pokemon with RR Glaceon's Ice Bind attack, does your opponent still have to discard a card?

No, the discarding of the card from hand is optional to begin with...and being that their pokemon is getting KO'd there really is no real reason to discard a card from hand

however, I do believe that if your opponent still wanted to discard a card from their hand, they can do so

They are allowed to discard a card from their hand if they wish. However, there is no real point to that unless Weezing RR is getting Knocked Out by Ice Bind.

There is still no point. If they don't discard, nothing is paralyzed, so why shoud they?

maybe to drop an energy or pokemon...for obvious purposes, of couse

think for example a rayquaza c deck, discarding could be useful, or, as mentioned, not discarding would get weezing parlyz, so that would mean no prize.

actually Weezing being paralyzed, wouldn't cause your opponent to not take a prize if it were KO'd, that only happens if Weezing is confused

Since paralyzation would replace confusion, you would be smart to discard when using Weezing RR.

See, you understand what I mean. All effects of attacks are carried out before checking for any knockouts. In this case, if you don't discard for Weezing RR after using his Damage Breakdown attack, he would take damage, and be paralyzed, and then he would be Knocked Out, which results in a prize draw.

Yeah, there are tons of reasons why you would discard cards on purpose during a knockout.

That's what he's saying... It WOULD be smart to discard when using Weezing.... -_-
