I was up at 6 ready to go, and my brother and I headed down to the VA regionals. I thought that Regionals would have tons of people, but there were 16 Juniors (lucky Juniors, they all got prizes), and 45 seniors. I'm running Magnerock with Machamp, Gliscor is running Vilepluff, thefleece with Umbreon/Scizor. My brother is running a Yanmega Tangrowth deck.

Round 1, vs. VileGar

I get a ok hand with Magnemite, and a Luxury ball. She starts Gastly, but FORGOT TO Pitch Dark. I top-decked a tomb, luxuryed for Magnemite, (Magnet gives free retreat), and Darkness Graced. She collectors for Oddish, Mime, and Tomb. She Trick Gases, switching to the tomb. All I do it draw attach, and Darkness Grace for Magnezone Prime. I also but out a BTS. She draws, playes down the Vileplume line, and Darkness Graces for Haunter. I draw a collector, getting the Skuntank, Regirock, and Chansey, evolving the Chansey with Darkness Grace (I take my time setting up thanks to her slow set-up). She gets a Gengar out through Darkness Grace, and ends. I heal Spiritomb with Nurse Call, dumping a {F}. I Regicycle dumping 2 trainers next. I start getting out a SF Mgnezone my Darkness Gracing for Magneton. She, on her turn, attacks me with Poltergeist, for 60. I miss-played here because I leveled up, then used Poisen Structure. What I should have done would have been used Poisen Structure, then level up, getting rid of Poisen. She has a Gengar X out so I can knock her out. I Judge, Nurse Call, and do 100 to her, 110 with Poisen. She uses her turn, instead of setting up another Gengar, just Shadow Rooming Skuntank. I Nurse Call again, Dump trainers, and end. Her Gengar has 10 left. She doesn't retreat at all, just Flash Bites and Shadow Rooms Azelf. I knock out another Gengar ko, and its 2-4 on prizes, me (she knocks out Skuntank). I attack Gengar 150, and she flips Tails on Fainting Spell. The next turn I ko her other Gengar, gg.

1-0

SWD come in late because of the storm, with Donphan.

R2, vs. Cherrim Vespiqueen

I draw my hand: {L}{L}{L}{F} Magnezone X, Luxury Ball, Spiritomb. He completely destroys me.

1-1

Here I meet armaldo1, whose playing Luxchomp.

R3, vs. LostGar
I get a nice hand setting up quickly. He Lost zones 5 of my Pokemon, I have 2 prizes left, the 15 minutes left has been called a long time ago. Instead of stalling it out, I just scoop.

1-2

R4, vs Jumpluff

I must not be shuffling well enough, so just see round 2 for this match.

1-3

At this point, it is annouced that there is a tornado watch. Joy. Also, a box is given away as a door prizes... to the person next to me. So close :/.

R5, vs Snorlax and junk

I swepe with Machamp and Magnezone.

2-3

Tornado over. It missed us, but an awful storm continues.

R6, vs Scizor Flygon

I ko 5 Pokemon with Mchamp, annoucce that I don't want to win this way, and pass twice. He gets out a Scizor, knocking out a Machamp and spare Regorock. I do 300 with Magnezone for the last prize.
3-3

Gliscor drops. armaldo1 got top8. My brother got top 4, getting SECOND AT REGIONALS. Since I lent him half is deck, he gave me 10 packs. He also won a $1000 scholarship. AWESOME.

RE: Glaceon's unlucky but ok 3-3 report. Tornado warning :/

Nice report. Just wanted to point out that Gliscor got 25th, he asked me to check :p and there was close to 64 seniors as in the beginning both Jordan and I were mad that we were like 3 or 5 seniors short of a 7 round top 16

RE: Glaceon's unlucky but ok 3-3 report. Tornado warning :/

I thought that was 15. I have bad eyes. And there were 23 pairs in the begining. 23x2=46. And the last place on the placeings was 45.

RE: Glaceon's unlucky but ok 3-3 report. Tornado warning :/

I did horribly. I get dead draws throughout game one (first loss). Even though I got 7 cards through Copycat, I couldn't draw any thing good except another Copycat, which lasted for THREE turns (what happened to four Collector =/). Round two (second loss), I was ERl'd for four prizes, but had the win. Round six... well, if thefleee didn't Seeker >.>

RE: Glaceon's unlucky but ok 3-3 report. Tornado warning :/

No problem :p I was just surprised that my friend who has never played competitively went 4-2... Jordan

RE: Glaceon's unlucky but ok 3-3 report. Tornado warning :/

The guy who played Dialgachomp?

BTW, how bad was the storm? glaceon told me it was a really bad storm, but anything else? Also, my dad and I outran the storm out the way back home ;D

Anyways, reading your report again, why did you scoop against Lostgar? If you stalled it out (legally), you could've gotten the win as long as you didn't let your opponent dump any Pokemon into the Lost Zone. Also, to prevent more bad starts, that's why I didn't like the Machamp tech too much. I would've had to cut some draw cards.

The storm was really bad for a while, but we drove out and stopped at subway because it was raining real hard. We ran into subway which was like 20 feet from the car and we were soaked. The storm kinda settled down when we began driving back and the funny thing is right after we dropped Jordan off it started raining again. But it was really bad for a while.

Nice job. Congrats to Michael!! My Michael had a horrible day. His deck was dead. He ran Magnerock too and was getting starts like chansey and skuntank and junk. Oh well, it happens. There was like 34 juniors, 40 something seniors and 193 Masters. I came in 33rd (missed top cut by 1... geesh) with a 5-3 record with LostGar, it honestly should have been at least 6-2; but I played some jerk that purposely slow played and I lost in time. The judges even came over and told him to speed it up but he really didn't. Guess I should have requested that someone stay there. He was playing G-dos and I had zoned a karp T2 so there was no way he could ever OHKO any of my Gengars. I can't really remember if I had 4 or 5 in the LZ when time was called because I was pretty upset at the guy because I had all the tools in place to seeker his bench and toss the last one or two with two fully charged Gengars left.

I didn't stall because all he needed was to Seeker and Lost Zone me. I should have checked his discard pile for Seekers. I was 5 cards away from being decked out too.
