Ok, so I'm going to post my Gothitelle/Reuniclus decklist. First, I'll post my old decklist and I'll tell you about how it fared in a small tournament. Then, I'll post my new decklist. This is mainly for DE, but if you want you can help me improve. At first, I'm probably going to look like a n00b, but just bear with me and read to the end.
Ok, first, my old, unfinished decklist:
Pokemon:19
x3-2-2 Gothitelle (I didn't have a third yet)
x3-2-2 Reuniclus
x1-1 Blissey Prime
x1 Zekrom
x1 Reshiram
x1 Manaphy
T/S/SD:30
x3 Pokémon Collector
x4 Pokémon Communication
x3 Rare Candy
x4 PONT
x1 Judge
x2 Catcher
x3 Junk Arm
x3 Max Potion
x1 Energy Retrieval
x2 Seeker
x4 Twins
Energy:11
8 psychic
3 DCE
Strategy:
The deck works by getting Gothitelle active and tanking with her by moving the damage to Resh/Zek w/ Reuniclus. Then, you can remove the damage w/ Max Potion or Blissey Prime or Seeker. Keep attaching energies to Gothitelle and hitting for as much as you need to. Most pokemon can't OHKO you, an trainer lock hurts all the pokemon who can. You can also get revenge KOs by moving 120 damage to Zekrom/Reshiram and using Outrage with a DCE if Gothitelle dies for 140 damage.
Ok, so thats my first and incomplete list and complete strategy.
The reason why I'm posting this list is so I can prove that even a junky list of G/R can win. Here is a small tournament report of how I did:
1st round- Brandon (Legoslock) W/ Reshiphlosion
I know Brandon and I know he is good, so I got ready for a tough battle.
Baisically, he went first and got out a Typhlosion by T2. I rarecandied into Gothitelle and catchered Typhlosion. He attacked w/ Typhlosion, and so I put a Gothita on the bench and started attaching energies to him. I kept removing the damage he did to Gothitelle with Reuniclus until finally I had enough energies on Gothita to let Gothitelle die. After he KOed Gothitelle, I twined for Gothitelle and a Rare candy and killed his Typhlosion. He promoted another one and used flare destroy. I had 4 energies on Gothitelle, now 3, so I just removed the damage and attacked. He got rid of another energy, but I dropped a DCE and killed it. Soon after this, with no Typhlosions in play left, and no one to kill me with, he just used Blue Flare to see me remove the damage, heal, and KO the Reshiram, and a few turns later he scooped.
2nd round-Dylan W /Reshiboararn
This turned out pretty similar, but it took longer (Darn sleeping babies!) and he didn't remove energies, making it simpler for me. I catchered his Pignite to permanently rid the field of Badboar, and then he scooped when I had 1 prize left like Brandon.
3rd round-_________ W/ Beartic:
I lost. I over extended to get out a Gothitelle and the result was me with 1 card in my hand. I lost pretty fast due to not being able to do anything. SCOOP!
So, I got second place.
Now, here's my current list:
Pokemon:19
x3-2-3 Gothitelle
x3-2-2 Reuniclus
x1-1 Blissey Prime
x2 Zekrom
T/S/SD:30
x3 Pokémon Collector
x1 Prof. Elm's TM
x3 Pokémon Communication
x3 Rare Candy
x4 PONT
x1 Judge
x2 Catcher
x3 Junk Arm
x2 Max Potion
x1 Energy Retrieval
x2 Seeker
x4 Twins
x1 Copycat
Energy:11
8 psychic
3 DCE
It is pretty similar, but its more consistant and works better under trainer lock.
So, thats it. You can see how this deck can completely shut down any deck that can't OHKO Gothitelle, and how strong this kind of strategy can be.
Thanks for reading, and consider Magic Swap for your next deck!
