Gothitelle Reuniclus or Gothitelle Gardevior???

I was thinking today about how the metagame has changed since Next Destinies, and how Gothitelle decks have changed with it and I suddenly thought about using Gardevior in my current Gothiuniclus (Gothitelle Reuniclus) deck. I tried it and it all seemed to clunky so I decided to make a thread about the current Gothitelle decks and whether the Reuniclus could/should be replaced with Gardevoir.

Opinion!?!?!?!?

I don't think Gothitelle decks are really viable right now. The only reason Gothitelle/Reuniclus could work was because almost nothing could hit that 130 mark without Trainers. Now that Magnezone is a lot more popular and EXs have entered the metagame, Gothitelle has lost a lot of its appeal. It's pretty clunky, has relatively mediocre HP, an alright ability, but an awful attack for something that will be KO'd every turn or two. Consider that Mewtwo, a card present in a large portion of decks out there, needs a total of only 4 energy (or 3 and a PlusPower) attached to itself and Gothitelle total, and Gothitelle becomes much worse.

That said, the only way I could see Gothitelle working would be with Gardevoir. You'd have to make it really fast and just try to swarm Gothitelle, though, which would be tough.

I couldn't agree more, I'm just not sure how to make it fast.but yes I do agree with you there. :D

I'd do gothitelle Gardevoir because reuniclus won't help much because gothitelle can be OHKOd very easily and gardevoir can also help out with mew two.

Thanks but unfortunatly I don't have any Mew/Mewtwo at the time of writing so its more about the gothitelle than anything.

The only good way to play Gothitelle is with Gardevoir, and the only way to swarm Gothitelles is with EXP Share and Shaymin. That way you will always have enough energy to attack for 110 and keep up the trainer lock.

To be honest, not really. If you don't play it, especially in this deck, you will lose to an opponent with 2 Mewtwos.

To start, Gothitelle Reuniclus is practically dead. This has been a deck that was really good during battle roads and even some cities, but now it is dead. The main card that killed it is Mewtwo EX. This card allows the opponent to easily OHKO your Gothitelle that only has 2 Energies on it. Switching to Gothitelle Gardevoir would be a much better idea. This would take out a lot of the locking ability, but that doesn't work anymore anyway. The new deck would have to be based around speed. The only problem is: If you can't set up fast enough, your opponent is going to take out you Gothitelle or Gardevoirs before you can use them to take prize cards. Both decks in my opinion are decent, but they just aren't good enough to handle the Metagame on OHKOs.

If you insist on using a deck like this you can switch to Gardevoir/Mewtwo EX. This deck is a lot better and faster because with Gardevoir Mewtwo can attack for 40+ for one energy. This is great because it allows you to take cheap prizes instead of loading a Gothitelle with Energies and praying your opponent doesn't draw a Mewtwo EX. If you yourself can't get a Mewtwo EX or 2, you can make a fun deck like Darmanitan/Gardevoir/Victini. This would also be a fast, fun deck that could have a chance to do good at a tournament, but is still nowhere near a tier 1 deck. These are only some of the many decks you can make with Gardevoir or Gothitelle, but they will stay Tier 3 decks and will not become BDIF. If you are looking for a decent fun deck, Gardevoir is fine, though.

Hands down Gardevoir Reuniclus. It has great damage potential. 110 damage on 2 energy? Yes, please! Plus with EXP share you're fully charged with one additional energy. Any deck that can't get catchered is amazing in this format.

You mean Gothitelle Gardevoir right?

Pretty sure, because reuniclus cant do 110 for 2 energy. But definetley Gothitelle Gardevoir because it is obviously better. For one, it does more damage and has better synergy. Unlike GeM(Gardevoir Mewtwo) or GEM(Gardevoir Electrode Mewtwo) it puts trainer lock so Gardy can be CatcherKOed. It can work without mewtwo, so long as you play rescue and exp share. since rescue gets it back into your hand, you have an Insta-Gothitelle if you have a Gothorita or Gothita+Candy, so GothiVoir is just great overall and is way better than GothiClus, easily.

As already stated several times, I feel that Gothitelle with Gardevoir is the better play. The higher damage output is a must in this format, and Reuniclus is basically pointless nowadays with EXs that can deal 150 + damage in the format. If you are fairly concerned about Mewtwo, you can simply play your own copy. I'm basically just agreeing with every post above me.

An okay counter for Mewtwo it Mew Prime with Zoroark in the lost Zone. It's nowhere near as good as the real thing, but it basically does the same job, which is to kill other Mewtwos. Plus it can hit EXs hard.
