Introduction

Hello and welcome to the Graphic Design Club. We welcome all new, aspiring, and experienced graphic artists to join our ranks. New and Aspiring artists can learn more about graphics as well as practice their skills, while Experienced members will give in-depth critique as well as showcase their own skills.

Rules
*Be respectful and courteous.
*When rating other member's art remember that they spent time and put a lot of effort into making each peace.
*Do not be afraid to ask questions.
*Should there be any problems please pm me, Lilsparks101, and I will see to it that it is handled.

Current Activity? :
All Spriters: To all spriters in the club I need you to create two to three sprites (original sprites, like new positions or recolors). If you are a member of the spriting club then see if other members will make a couple sprites if we come up short. As of now we need 10.
All Members will choose a sprite of their choosing from those sprites an create an Icon of them. An icon is graphic in the size/shape of square from 150x150 (max) pixels. Once everyone finishes their icon I will make it into a small showcase. To make this icon I will soon be supplying a tutorial on avatars (which are a form of icons). The project will start once we get some sprites.

Current Competition? : none

Ranks
*Experienced: These members will act as role models to all other members as well as give advice and tips they've learned over their career.
*Aspiring: No newbie to their program of choice and show that they know what they are doing.
*New: Just starting or wishing to start graphic design. They will be able to find mentors in our Aspiring and Experienced members.

(BTW, I would really like to learn how to make those awesome banners like u :) )

PM all applications to the Group Leader.

dmaster out.

@The Flaming Ho-oh: Well I can certainly try to help you learn Graphic Design. First things first, I would prefer that you would either get Gimp (Free Program, Easy Download), or Photoshop (Cost quite a deal of money unless your "computer savy").

And we welcome another new member in monopyro.

@Monopyro: Well the first thing you can do is to make a new graphic and post it here, I'll be ready for it when you do.

@monpyro: If you mean to join then I already have you on the list.

@everyone (including monpyro): Since as of now you all are listed under New, we should get started on improvement. You can all make something new to show me where you are at.

There are steps to me being able to teach graphics. Hopefully in one banner I should be able to understand your preferred style and then I'll move on from there.

Right you were the spriter, sorry. Do you have Photoshop or Gimp yet?

Edit: We also welcome the first aspiring artist in Juliacoolo.

Guess this means that I am accepted! Well, I guess I should work on my newest stuff. I draw my characters in my banners, then ink them, scan them, graphically color them, and make them a banner.

Simple stuff. I know.

No I think that drawing your own render is very unique. Me, I have never have a talent for drawing my own characters, so I think that is a very special skill that can put an additional twist on your art. What stuff do you draw specifically?

Well, I can freehand almost any pokemon I see (and some snime characters) and I can draw in manga style. I am a lot better at drawing girls than boys...

Well, they are really! It's easier for me, becaus if I have a question with anatomy, I can just look in the mirror and see what I look like. If I need to find out something about boy anatomy, then I have to call one of my brothers in. T_T

I know how u feel, I am the oldest of 4 boys, I feel ur pain, they are not even allowed to come in the room when I'm on my computer

SAme thing with me, except my brothers don't speak english. They speak Neanderthal. T_T

Anyways, here are my two Banners, one is a pokemon banner, and one is a Banner based off of a character in one of my stories.

@Monpyro: Good start, but there are still a lot of things to improve on. First is blending. The banner should at least have the same color scheme, which as far as I can tell should have a been a green-orange mix. The render should be a lot more crisp (HQ), but that can be excused as even I have trouble with finding good renders. The text should definetly be changed. I like the arrangement but the indent is too much. If you did the indent yourself with a drop shadow then just take it off and it should be fine (baring you fix that huge h). Otherwise I would change the font. If you update it then post it up again, otherwise tell me what you think of what I said and bounce some ideas off me.

@aggie:

If you used Paint to make this then its fairly decent, but lacking quality. I suggest you either get gimp or get photoshop.

If you used Gimp/Photoshop then I am going to assume that you do not know about either layers or brushes. After I find out which program you used I'll elaborate further on that.
