09/04/2012 - Quite unfortunately the laptop I had all of my art and works-in-progress on has died (failed motherboard T.T) Unsure as of yet whether or not I will be able to salvage my work so consider this thread dead with plans to re open in the future. Very sorry. I will bump this when I have my work laptop back up and running.

I really enjoy Fakemon, so here I'll post all my current works and projects. I am always looking to improve myself as an artist so feel free to post your criticisms. I use the image editing software, Gimp but my knowledge of such programs is still quite limited. As always the forum rules apply but feel free to share whatever you like in this thread as long as it pertains to Pokemon, Fakemon, or art in general!

[8/22/2012] ~ Space Base Project!
A revamp of the original Base Set for Pokemon TCG with new "Celestial" Type Pokemon!
Starting this week I will try and post a few new cards every week. Let's see how far this little project goes!

These fakemon are very well drawn and imaginitively designed, the only bad thing I can say is that you should be more creative and make your complete own Ideas up instead of basing them on other pokemon. But these are great, keep it up!
 
These are some pretty neat looking Fakemon, especially Reginova. Although, personally, I don't like the thought of legendaries having evolutionary lines, but that's just me. I like how you made space-based Regi. That's pretty original. Nice work!

To answer your question, I tried to give it a full-art card look with the use of sharpening and blurring. Though it is still unfinished I do like how it turned out, especially how it blends with the background. What do you think of it? Keep in mind none of the cards are finished yet!
 
I like the Registar line, but I think legendaries shouldn't have (pre)evolutions.
These are nice though. I want to see more!
 
Update!

Added some new art! Mewtwo, Mew, Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon.
Also, I am thinking of changing Reginova and Regiverse to two seperate basic Pokemon and adding my own new "type:" Space type Pokemon! What do you think? Good ideas?

Oh, incredible. I see that your recent digital works are well drawn, but may I suggest using GIMP to make it less pixelly? I know it will take some time to get used to it.

He just chose a brush that's not suitable for one layer drawing.

Thank you very much! I do infact use Gimp, however, I am still quite the novice. ^_^ If you have any tips or tutorials I'd love to learn more! I am also looking for some beginner level 3d software. If you know of any I would appreciate the information.

Teal, what brush do you suggest? o_o I noticed the same thing but could not find the solution. Thanks!
 
I actually prefer to make binary drawings as they are so easy and they look pretty good.
 
Oh, don't try 3D software. I did so, and faltered to even create a decent piece. I had no idea on how to create something. Some claim it's easy, but you're wasting your time if you try 3D software. Let a skilled artist recommend it.
 
I would call Space type Celestial because it just sounds better to me, but, whatever you prefer.

Oh that's a very creative idea! Thanks very much I'll consider using it. As for artwork I should have some more originals up soon. I am also contemplating a re-version of the original base set. I'll put a list up and if anyone would like to contribute to it feel free.
 
Regiverse Card hurt my eyes... Try not sharpening the !@#$ out of it next time. Oh, and, the fonts are wrong.

Edit: The HP & It's number should be Futura STD Heavy, The name should be Gill Sans STD Bold Condensed, the level is Gill Sans STD Ultra Bold (/Condensed), annnnnnnd... That's preeeeeeeeeety much all you need
