Biweekly Haiku & Short-Poem Contest XIV​

Rules and Entry Information

1.) Signups will again be based on the order in which submissions are made, meaning that all entries are to be made upfront (either here or via PM to me). The limit for entries is again set at fifteen participants. Once an entry is submitted, it cannot be swapped out for something else or altered in any way.

2.) Submissions are expected to be haiku-style short poems (those with a “five-seven-five” syllable format spread out across three lines). However, other types of short poems will be accepted so long as they don’t exceed four lines in length. New entries will be accepted until Wednesday, February 22, 2012 around noon, until all slots have been filled, or the thread sits several days without new entries.

3.) Each poem for the contest must follow the selected theme for the competition. Due to artist’s having different interpretations of ideas, no haiku will be disqualified for writing about divergent topics so long as the theme is tied in somehow (if it isn’t, then you will be disqualified for the duration of this round). This contest’s theme is Fighting.

4.) Voting will run for three days and be open to all members of PokéBeach. Everyone will be allowed to vote for up to three of their favorites. All participants are required to vote; however, you are not allowed to vote for your own (if I catch you doing so, you’ll be docked a point).

Updated! Nomekop55555 and Arcanine954, I took the first few words of your poems and added them as their titles. If you want them changed, just let me know. Your entries aren't required to have titles in order to enter, but so many people enter poems with them anyways that I just started added them myself if they don't already have them for presentation purposes.

Updated! Sorry for the delay, but I haven't had a lot of Internet access since the other day and wanted to make sure I had time to get things squared away.

I think you made a mistake in Zenith's poem's title. Its underlined tags are both [/u] whereas the first [/u] tag should have been a tag. Sorry if I made you feel bad about it.

Fixed as of the other day. Thanks for keeping an eye out for little stuff like that. Sometimes, I just have a tendency to miss things.

I'm bumping this to remind people that entries are still being taken. I'm not going to start polling early this time because of the smaller turnout this round has had in comparison to the past few.
