RE: Haiku Contest (First Run)

Alright, thanks for all your entries and submissions. I already updated the first post with them for all but Blue Thunder's, which still has to be submitted.

There are three spots left for anyone else who wants to enter. After that, I'm just going to stop accepting entries for this contest and start a poll for voting. Again, depending on how well this one goes, I might start others afterwards to keep it going.

RE: Haiku Contest (First Run)

I'll enter.

Changing with the trees
I let go of my past wrongs
Turning a new leaf

I hope this counts toward Nature and Wildlife, it was inspired by autumn and how I seem to feel every September.

The themes are going to be sort of vague. So long as it's got some reference to nature or things in nature I'll allow it in this contest (so, yeah, it counts).

Edit: Two more spots are open, and I'm still waiting on your submission, Blue Thunder. Once the quota's been met or the deadline comes, I'll start a poll (just a reminder).

RE: Haiku Contest (First Run)

I'm in.

The True Nature of Summer
Like hot coals, burning.
My feet burn from the grass plains.
Thanks, global warming.

Sorry that this didn't really fit the theme, but that's how nature is to me.

RE: Haiku Contest (First Run)

Sorry about the delay. I had to come up with something to write lol

Land of crystal seas
Surrounded by golden trees
Can cure my disease

RE: Haiku Contest (First Run)

And with these, I'm closing entries and opening voting. People can vote for up to their three favorites and the one (or ones) with the most votes wins.

RE: Haiku Contest (Entries closed, Voting goes on until Thursday)

Tis fine. It's still an open poll if you change your mind. There's no restriction for who votes for what, and who does will be kept confidential.

RE: Haiku Contest (Entries closed, Voting goes on until Thursday)

They're all good, that's why I'm not voting.

RE: Haiku Contest (Entries closed, Voting goes on until Thursday)

Are we aloud to vote for ourselves, or no.

RE: Haiku Contest (Entries closed, Voting goes on until Thursday)

Yes. In future contests I may not allow it, but for this one it's fine.

RE: Haiku Contest (Entries closed, Voting goes on until Thursday)

I think everyone here did a great job. I voted for my favorite three. Good luck to all those participating. And honestly, it's not about winning. I think having contests like these will allow people to greatly improve their skills in the art of writing. And hopefully, these contests will also spring much needed life into the Writer's Corner.

I'll be sure to join the next contest!

RE: Haiku Contest (Entries closed, Voting goes on until Thursday)

I'm amazed that people are allowed to vote for themselves.
Hopefully people haven't gone overboard with that.
I've just voted for the one person whose work I think was best.
I see that I have 3 votes, too! Thanks to the trio that voted for me! :)

By the way, isn't it ninth instead of nineth?

RE: Haiku Contest (Entries closed, Voting goes on until Thursday)

Because on the nineth day, God created cows. And, deep down, don't we all want to be cows, hun?

I was in a rush writing the poll yesterday, so I misspelled it, I guess. In any case, it's fixed.

RE: Haiku Contest (Entries closed, Voting goes on until Thursday)

*bump*

Just a reminder that voting ends tomorrow. Vote for your favorites if you still haven't while time remains.

RE: Haiku Contest (Entries closed, Voting goes on until Thursday)

Whoa, I'm winning!
Thanks, everyone that voted for me so far! :D
I'm glad to have a forte, since I've not been very successful with my art!

RE: Haiku Contest (Entries closed, Voting goes on until Thursday)

Last call before I log off for the night. The poll should close automatically, but if not, I'll do it in the morning sometime.

After this, the only question I have is whether or not this would be good to continue doing every two weeks like I originally intended to?

RE: Haiku Contest (Entries closed, Voting goes on until Thursday)

It would definitely be good to continue!
