RE: Haiku & Short-Poem Contest XIX

Yeah, sorry, but I have to stand by that, CJBlazer.

Sorry for the delay, but I locked the poll yesterday and didn't have a chance to write up a proper announcement until right now.

Final Results
First Place: Deus: Nightmare Autarch's Futility with six points
Second Place: The Fallen One's Rebirth with five points
Third Place (Tied): AoH's Contemplation by the Waterfront and Zyflair's What Lurks in the Background

Congrats to DNA, TFO, AoH, and Zyflair!

Wow, just a lot of people to name. I knew I wouldn't win, but oh anyways :p

Congratulations to Deus: Nightmare Autrach for winning first place, The Fallen One for taking second place and, AoH, and Zyflair for coming in third. I enjoyed reading the poems and hope the next round goes just as great.

Don't worry about it. I just added it to the other thread anyways.

I actually highly disagree with DNA's poem so I can't see why it won. (How are seasons supposed to be futile? With this logic everything is meaningless.) Zyflair's is way too angsty for me - people seem to love angst in their poems... TFO:s was my favourite though~. :3
Mah critique.

Yeah, I never really loved spring that much to begin with. I guess people just see the seasons to be all to be the same, but there's some sort of beauty to a cycle, constantly changing, but predictable in its changes.

You guys spelt Autarch wrong.

Dangit DNA why are you so good at Haikus?
I'm not, really; all I'm good at is getting the 5-7-5 thing down. I honestly just wrote that up in about 2 minutes, like I do with any time that I enter this contest - my main motive for entering was just to keep activity up as this thread was stagnating.

My other two votes that I submitted other than myself were AoH's and Teal's; I didn't particularly like any of the others very much at all.

I agree, actually. At the time I wrote that I was in a bit of an angsty/depressed mood, and that spilled over into the haiku itself (yet at the same time I tried to tie it back into my name - a nightmare is a type of dream). Because of that I wasn't expecting to win either because I thought a lot of people would disagree with me. Welp, I was wrong.

I didn't like Zyflair's OR TFO's, personally. Well, I kinda liked TFO's. That was nice. But I only got 3 votes, so eh...

Wait, you are allowed to vote for yourself? xD

No.

Edit: I missed that DNA voted for himself, thus officially having one point less than what he's score says, but it doesn't matter because he still won anyways.

Confession: This is how I feel. Yeeeah.

Alright, I updated the results, but I don't disqualify anyone unless they've written something completely stupid or completely disregarded the rules. Punishment for voting for oneself is just a one-point-reduction.

I thought voting for one's self was still legal, hence why I did it.

however, you are not allowed to vote for your own (if I catch you doing so, you’ll be docked a point).

Actually, it hasn't been since like the third or fourth contest. In any case, you still won, so don't worry about it.

I would allow voting for yourself, cause... why not? Everyone would just vote for themself too, so. Yeah. I would allow it. xP (+ You have to vote for two other people.)

The main reason I don't allow it like I did in the first few contests is because it left a lot of people without votes. But then, we've had significantly larger turnouts since then, so I suppose I'll just edit that rule out from here on.

If there was a tie and the one of the viewers are in the tie, then he/she could vote for his/her entry if not voted all three entries itself.

No, it will gain a unfair advantage.
