Biweekly Haiku & Short-Poem Contest XLII
Rules and Entry Information
1.) Signups will again be based on the order in which submissions are made, meaning that all entries are to be made upfront (either here or via PM to me). There is no limit in how many can participate. Once an entry is submitted, it cannot be swapped out for something else or altered in any way.
2.) Submissions are expected to be haiku-style short poems (those with a “five-seven-five” syllable format spread out across three lines). However, other types of short poems will be accepted so long as they don’t exceed four lines in length. New entries will be accepted until Friday, March 29th
3.) Each poem for the contest must follow the selected theme for the competition. Due to artist’s having different interpretations of ideas, no haiku will be disqualified for writing about divergent topics so long as the theme is tied in somehow (if it isn’t, then you will be disqualified for the duration of this round); however, please note that poems posted with intent to troll or written up stupidly will be disqualified automatically. This contest’s theme is Temptations.
4.) From here on out, voting will be conducted by private ballots submitted to me via PM or by "Liking" posts. These should include the titles of your three favorite poems for this round. Ballots will then be tallied and the winner will announced on Monday, April 1st.
*Rules, timescales, and other parameters are subject to change without notice.

1.) Path (By [member]DNA[/member])
Stay the course of fate;
Turn not to the left or right;
Reward lies ahead.
2.) Sweets. (by [member]Luckyfire[/member])
Sweets, sweets are always haunting...
I do not know why people love eating~
They always make me too full, thus the reason I avoid them.

Hands begin to twitch,
Am I able to resist?
Temptations prevail.

Lie awake with their souls
For Hell's gates open often and
Heaven's tales are rarely told.

Grabbing sand until
The time is right to fully
Indulge temptation

Blindly walking through
the mist of tempting actions,
not knowing one's fate.

That forbidden cake...
I suddenly start seizing
I foam at the mouth

From my neighbour's tree
I snagged an apple, two, three,
they were wholly sour.
