Biweekly Haiku & Short-Poem Contest XXXVII
Rules and Entry Information
1.) Signups will again be based on the order in which submissions are made, meaning that all entries are to be made upfront (either here or via PM to me). The limit for entries is again set at fifteen participants. Once an entry is submitted, it cannot be swapped out for something else or altered in any way.
2.) Submissions are expected to be haiku-style short poems (those with a “five-seven-five” syllable format spread out across three lines). However, other types of short poems will be accepted so long as they don’t exceed four lines in length. New entries will be accepted until Wednesday, January 16th around noon or until all slots are filled.
3.) Each poem for the contest must follow the selected theme for the competition. Due to artist’s having different interpretations of ideas, no haiku will be disqualified for writing about divergent topics so long as the theme is tied in somehow (if it isn’t, then you will be disqualified for the duration of this round); however, please note that poems posted with intent to troll or written up stupidly will be disqualified automatically. This contest’s theme is Resolutions.
4.) From here on out, voting will be conducted by private ballots submitted to me via PM. These should include the titles of your three favorite poems for this round. Ballots will then be tallied and the winner will announced on Saturday, January 19th.
*Rules, timescales, and other parameters are subject to change without notice.

But I won't give in to my feelings; they are merely one
Thing that I can stand up to as a bold and new person, for this year only.
4.) Failure. (By [member]RaichuGirl[/member])
Try to break habits,
Yet temptations overwhelm,
A fresh year wasted
5.) Summit of Ambition (By [mod]Ice Arceus[/mod])
Goals in reachable
sight, not willing to be touched
by the hands of time.
6.) One step at a time (By [member]Zyflair[/member])
Rather than dreaming,
Of grand plans. Small steps take you
farther than dreamed of.

Is that your really goal
Is it really in sight
just dont lose hope
to keep up the fight
8.) Foresight (By [member]DNA[/member])

Will you be better off than
When you first begun?
9.) The New Year (By [member]CJBlazerX87[/member])

Old habits becoming anew
while some habits stay
