Expanded [HELP] Budget Creep Show Gengar / Crobat

Hey guys, I've been playing Pokemon with my friends for a while using a Theme Deck with some singles, and now I want to build something more serious. Gengar and Crobat are my favorite monsters since the gameboy games, and when I saw a video on YouTube using both in a pretty interesting mechanic I decided to give it a try.

I don't have the necessary knowledge about Expanded Format to build a good budget deck (I can't afford some staples like VS Seeker right now), so can you give me a hand?

Pokémon: 18
3 Gastly
3 Haunter
3 Gengar
3 Zubat
3 Golbat
3 Crobat

Trainers: 29
4 Professor Sycamore
4 Professor Birch's Observations
2 Lysandre
2 AZ
3 Dimension Valley
4 Trainers' Mail
3 Ultra Ball
3 Level Ball
2 Super Scoop Up
2 Sacred Ash

Energy: 8

8 Psychic Energy

Open spots: 5

Strategy:

The strategy is quite simple. Bats uses their Bite Abilities (or even moves) to set up enough damage counters to Gengar's Creep Show.

Well, I have five open spots and I don't know how to fill them. I'm using two Stage 2 lines, so I wondered some Rare Candies due to Trainers' Mail, but only Gengar would use them. I don't know if I have enough draw/search, so what do you think about 2 Skyla? Or some utilities/more draw are better?

Thanks o/

Only 2 suggestions. Get rid of all your Professor Birch's observations and replace them with N, and squeeze in some space for some Shaybaes or Octillery,
Not sure he can afford Shaymins, and Octillery would make this even more clunky than it already is.

I suggest you add in a Jirachi EX and a Jirachi XY67 Promo.

That destroys the whole concept of budget.

I agree with the Jirachi duo, also I think you should add in 2 Fighting Fury Belt and 2 Hypnotoxic Laser in order to get a bit more survive-ability and get damage counters onto the opponent while you are evolving.

Changes:

+2 Fighting Fury Belt
+2 Hypnotoxic Laser

Move the deck around, see what works best.

Also as a side note Hoopa from Steam Siege will work incredibly well in this deck, so you might want to consider using him.

Agree with Laser, disagree with FFB. It doesn't do anything except give Gastly more HP.

@Emskas Where I live, N is about three times Observations price, so I prefer build something cheaper now and later swap some cards.

@DatSonicAce I can't afford Jirachi EX right now. The Promo one worth without the EX one?

@FierySplash Hypnotoxic Laser may be a good idea, and about Hoopa, do you think I'll need more energies to a backup plan? It seems to work well with Mystery Energy.

You only need one energy to use Hyperspace Punch which is the move you're going for, in fact Hoopa STS would be an ideal starter for this deck. About getting staples, look to invest in the KeldeoVSRayquaza Battle Deck it comes loaded with Staples - N, Professor's Letter, Sycamore, VS Seeker .

Ya, you don't need Jirachi-EX in this deck. I guess the Promo will help stall certain decks which rely on Special Energies, and hopefully get at least 30 damage on before it is picked off. Here is Troll&Toad's Jirachi .

The Zubat from the Plasma sets is way better. It has a ability that lets it retreat for free if it has no energy attached to it. Also, I would make you bat line a 3-3-2 and add a Wally.

Why do you just say to put Shaymin Ex in everything when people say they want a budget deck?

@Dalton, it has become pretty common that players disregard Budget decks and cards like Octillery, which as far as I can tell you Octillery is actually better for some decks than a Shaymin-EX would be.

Um Jirachi EX is only 11.49 on Troll and Toad...
You would need both. It seems you have a supporter engine here so you must use Jirachi to grab them when necessary. The promo is very important for Night March. With that, you can discard their DCEs and then use your bats to effortlessly pick off benched Marchers.

As FierySplash stated above, I highly recommend purchasing at least 1 Keldeo VS. Rayquaza Battle Deck because not only does it give you staples, but also contains very powerful attackers for the Expanded Format, both of which have their own high-tier decks. As you may know, Keldeo won worlds last year.
