Recently my girlfriend's been getting more into the TCG (moved on from "The shiny Ninetales so pretty" to "The pretty Ninetales is really strong!" ^^) and she wants to battle some of our friends more often, but deck making isn't really our strong suit ^^;; I did my best with her first one (below), but it's not very good and I want to see what we can do to make it better. It doesn't have to be standard, expanded is fine, but one thing I do need is semi-budget friendly. It wasn't until recently we figured we could save money by buying the specific cards we need online instead of boosters at the store ^^;;;;;; Any help is appreciated, and thank you all so much in advance ^^

(take anything I say with a grain of salt, as I am not a competitive player) The only real problem that I see with your deck is that there are too many Pokémon. The number of pokemon that are usually in a deck is anywhere from ten to twenty. The decks that I have made have around 15. Competitive decks use around 20-30 trainer cards. The competitive community would want 3 ultra balls instead of 1 of each basic type. More draw with extra tiernos' would help. Some people think of VS Seeker as an auto include. I personally would reduce the number of energy that you use. I make up for this by including Energy Retrieval and more double colorless. Lysandre and Escape Rope are nice to have in a deck. Here Comes Team Rocket! is hilarious to play, but something like town map would be better. I would remove Revitalizer. Ninetales Break is actually a competitive deck right now. I would look around on Deck Garage to see how many of each "type"(Pokémon, energy, and Trainers) people are using.

Hmm. I see  Thanks for the advice c: I'll see what I can do atm and then test it out against my deck ^^

What I saw in your deck was what a lot of newer players tend to do. (I have made the same mistake) The trainer card recommendations are just things to look at, and decide weather they are good for you or not. If you are ok with cards from extended then put that you are using the extended format in the title, which would get more people to respond.
