This is my first RMT and I am quite desperate for help and critique. This is also my first competitive team. The theme is centered around the move Gravity.
Blissey @ Chople Berry
Ability: Natural Cure
252 Def/ 252 HP/ 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Gravity
- Seismic Toss
- Aromatherapy
- Soft Boiled
Blissey is my first Gravity user and special wall. Her other moves are standard for a Blissey, and I suppose Seismic toss is in case she is Taunted or for inflicting set damage. Aromatherapy is to heal my team's statuses as there is not a way for them to avoid toxic spikes and whatnot. Soft Boiled is there so she can set up Gravity again sometime.
Dusclops @ Eviolite
Ability: Pressure
252 HP/ 252 Def/ 4 Atk
Adamant Nature
- Gravity
- Will O Wisp
- Hex
- Pain Split
Dusclops here is my second and final Gravity user. I do not anticipate using him as my lead though. Under Gravity WOW is 100 percent accurate, and if my opponent is not yet poisoned by toxic spikes, WOW will make sure Hex is hitting harder. Pain Split is his form of recovery.
Greninja @ Red Card/Focus Sash
Ability: Protean
252 Spe/ 252 Atk/ 4 HP (I am not completely sure what to EV train in)
Jolly Nature
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Mat Block/ ?
- U Turn
He is my entry hazard setter. Under gravity, no one can avoid the spikes, and other than steel/poison types, no one is getting around toxic spikes either. I put U Turn on him so he can swap out of battle for one of my sweepers. Additionally, U Turn is his only damaging attack, which is why I chose a Jolly nature. Mat Block would be there to ensure I get a Gravity in, but if not that, I am not sure what to put. Red Card would be there for surprising my opponent and perhaps poisoning the incoming Pokemon.
Starmie @ Focus Sash/ Expert Belt
Ability: Natural Cure
252 SpA/ 252 Spe/ 4 SpD
Timid Nature
- Blizzard
- Thunder
- Dazzling Gleam/ ?
- Rapid Spin/ Recover
First off, I am not sold on Dazzling Gleam at all. Starmie has a buffed up BoltBeam set because both Thunder and Blizzard have 100 percent accuracy under Gravity. Rapid Spin, I think, is definitely needed to rid myself of entry hazards, but if I replace one of my Pokemon with a alternate Rapid Spinner, I would run Recover. Starmie's goal is to hit fast and hard.
Heracross @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Megahorn
- Night Slash/ Stone Edge
- Close Combat
- Facade
My second sweeper under Gravity. Megahorn and Stone Edge (if I run it) will hit very reliably, and Facade will hit almost anything for a fair amount of damage. I think he pairs well with Starmie. It is hard to switch him in without losing my momentum, though.
Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
252 HP/ 252 Def/ 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Crunch/ ?
- Slack Off
- Whirlwind
Hippowdon is my defensive wall and a phazer. I really want to replace crunch, but I am not sure what with. Sand Stream has saved me a couple times, but also killed me other times. Overall, I think she fits in the most with Gravity as far as other defensive options go.
Well, there you have it. I am apprhensive about this team, but I think it makes a good suprise. Any and all help is appreciated!
