Strategy:
This is primarily a hit and run Poison/Gengar deck, focusing both on poison and walling; Mewtwo is used for big damage. The original deck had much more poison related cards, although with the increasing use of Robes, Shelters and Abilities, poison is losing in the metagame. The Revenge Toxicroak is to get a decent 90 (or 180 on numerous EXs) after being KO'd, which happens quite a bit in this deck.

i had that problem last night with my gengar/trevenant deck. poison wasn't working and it caused me the win serveral times. i had thought of adding mewtwo for bigger damage.

would Skyla affect the deck in anyway just to try and get your stadiums out quicker and I don't know if this would work but have you tried a 1-1 line of Gothitell FUF to switch out your stadiums when ever you want its seems helpful in this sort of deck seeing as both are useful to the deck and use rare candy to accelerate the gothita evolution again this is just a suggestion but if it doesn't work then kill me all you want after

Gothitelle wouldn't work to well as it makes the deck highly inconsistent. I would like to put Skyla in, although I barely have any space.

well it might be a good idea to take out a juniper and replace it with either trump card or Skyla seeing as you have no way to recover the energy in case any of your pokemon get defeated

I don't think energy retrieval is necessary. I also would need the draw power, so I can't take any more Juniper.

I've played against this type of deck, as well as build and play my own version. Following are some thoughts for your consideration:

  • Running a Revenge Terrakion is perhaps a more useful option that Toxicroak for a few reasons (like Terrakion is a simple Basic Poké vs. Toxicroak; so, it is easier to setup; Terrakion has 40 more HP; etc.) despite its disadvantages like not being able to use P energy and a very hefty Retreat Cost. Or,
  • Running a 2-2 Trevenant line can be very useful when you can impose Item-lock onto your opponent.
  • I've found that the Dark Corridor's Poison effect is sufficient; so, I don't run any additional Ht Lasers.
  • Reshiram may be more useful than the Kyurem.
  • When playing against this deck, my strategy has typically been to ignore the "walls" (e.g., Lysandre around) and just KO the Gengar EXs which Yveltal EX can do very nicely. So, without a strong D Poké counter, like Manectric EX, I usually win this matchup (running my Yveltal deck) 90% of the time.
  • Running Mystery energy too gives your opponents' more Enhanced Hammer targets.
Given the above comments, I'd suggest the following changes:

-1 Zekrom
-1 Kyurem
-2 Toxicroak
-2 Croagunt

+3 Phantump
+2 Trevenant - solid attacker too
+1 Gengar EX (or another Trevenant)

-1 Ultra Ball - 3 should be sufficient
-3 Ht Laser

+1 N - more card draw and opponent's hand disruption
+2 Enhanced Hammer / Head Ringer - major disruption
+1 Muscle Band - should be maxed out

-1 Virbank City Gym - since you are not getting a good return on your investment
+1 Xerosic / Startling Megaphone - to remove opponents' Tools

-4 Mystery energy - additional Hammer target
+3 P energy
+1 P Letter - to search for Basic energy

I hope you find these comments helpful.

Thanks heaps Tuxedo!

I love using Manectric EX in my build to pressure Yveltal EX decks that give Gengar trouble. I have
2 Manectric EX
3/4 Lighting energy

My friend and I don't have huge access to Manetric EX, but I'll certainly give that option thought if we get a hold some.

For now, consider play-testing with proxies in order to really get comfortable with any changes and further refine your deck, if needed. Regional tournaments start next month; so, you have time to get (buy, trade and/or borrow) the cards you need.

I don't play Cities or Regionals, we just participate in light tournaments.
