Ho-oh EX Variants

The main reason for the Terra at this point would be Thundurus EX, because it gets an easy OHKO there too. And you failed to list as a reason the fact that fire type is fantastic next format because it hits both Virizion and Genesect for SE, making for an OHKO with a heads and an attachment or PlusPower.

And @Machamp, Just Ho-Oh is still solid because of its favorable matchups with VG and Trubbish. And if we get the Mewtwo/Genesect deck and EXBB, the only thing we lose is SSU, and Max Potion is still better.

Don't forget that not all genesect decks will be strictly V/G, techs like lugia, bouffolant or even tropius (not fire weak) can do pretty well against ho-oh with him being a 160 hp pokemon. Not to mention you will get destroyed by Kyurem/Bangle decks.

Well Tropius hits for 90 and gets OHKO'd, even without weakness, and Lugia doesn't even do well against Ho-oh. Bouffalant is annoying, but an extra attackment should take care of it. Cobalion NVI wrecks Kyurem/Bangle decks, and we should be keeping that, seeing as it's in EXBB. Coba EX is a decent substitute if it does somehow get rotated.

Honestly, if you're playing this deck because it has a good matchup against something like Trubbish, you should rethink how you choose decks. lol

Anyways, Ho-oh has a pretty bad matchup against Blastoise and Plasma, so it's not even that good.

we are talking about the future. the plasma matchup is pretty good witn terrakion and cobalion nvi. assume lasers will be diminished due to the presence of virizion next format and hooh is at least tier2

Also, you have to consider the fact that Blastoise/Keldeo will either be severely reduced or straight up gone. At the very least, they're gonna be dropping their Keldeo count, which means Rayquaza DV could make your matchup quite favorable. And as for Plasma, ditto what MMAmonchan said.

And Trubbish is actually quite strong when built right. Its Energy/Damage ratio is better than QuazaEels, it's easier to charge (EXP. Share FTW), and it still has tremendous versatility.

Blastoise is not going to be gone, and it's probably still going to be Tier 1. I think it's often forgotten that Blastoise's main attacker isn't weak to grass and can hit for 200 damage MUCH easier than Genesect can, meaning the matchup is probably in Blastoises favor. The only real threat is a T1 Virizion EX which won't happen consistently and even then, once BKEX hits the field it can easily burn through Genesect considering that they have a very hard time keeping energy on the field.

I think that's the real issue this deck is going to have - finding a way to beat Blastoise and Plasma. Ho-oh is all fine and dandy when it comes up against Genesect but it falters when it comes to many of its other matchups.

Well, the reason I think Blastoise is gonna have problems is with Red Signal. You're gonna need to bench Keldeos because Munna will stall out your BKEXes if you don't. As soon as you bench them, they get dragged up and Megalo Cannon'd. Assuming you run 2 Keldeo EX, that's 4 easy prizes right there, and you only need 1 G-booster to finish off the game on a BKEX. If they choose not to bench Keldeos, you have the huge advantage of them only being able to attack half the time. That means you can take prizes faster, which means you win.

The main issue with that is if you leave BKEX up and running, they can clear energy off the field and you won't be able to catcher KO Keldeos anymore. I agree with you that their primary out is to just take prizes as fast as possible, but that's very difficult when you're main attacker is being hit for 200 every turn. I don't think Red Signal is actually a very good option in that matchup; as manually attaching Plasma Energy takes away from a crucial Grass attachment.

blah is off topic in a thread?! anyway. i think that if hooh can focus on these two matchups then the rest will just happen

just a thought... if there is a rotation.... this deck will be dead because energy switch is in black and white.... that is all

If you want feedback on your list, you need to post it in the Decklist Help forum.

I posted it in here so I could see if the ideas in the list were viable, not for help on the list.

Your list is, well, outdated. You have no Terrakion, no Landorus, no Cobalion, nada. Kyurem is totally useless here, as it doesn't hit anything important for weakness. Ditto goes for the other two. Also, lasers in this doesn't really work next format, seeing as Virizion makes them preeetty useless. You also have no mirrors, etc. etc. etc.
