ive had a ho oh legend since HGSS came and its done me alot of good. i had it an electric deck with amparos from HGSS and it did really well. i just wonder if it would do any good in the new format at all because lets face it, ho oh = AWESOME. and please, if your going to say "use emboar" i rly wont ever. i have no way of getting one and i dont like emboar.N.O. but i was kinda thinking like mayb :ninja

serpirior would be there to heal my ampharos and ho ohs so i can attack longer and it could also attack if needed.

Why dont you run it like Zekrom? Pachirisu+shaymin+Ho-oh Legend. Use Ampharos as your main source of energy retrival and placement. Pachi+Shaymin as techs maybe 2 of each. 2-2-2 Serperior is the Max. as it's a tech.

Hope this works. Tats my thoughts.
 
Ho-oh legend would be a GREAT tech if grass decks for whatever reason are popular in your area.

I wouldn't consider it the "poor man's" since both pieces run between $15-20 in mint condition.

Ho-oh would be a amazing tech if ever a really good pokemon comes out that is week to fire. :p
 
Not really. Reshiram can still do Ho-OH's job better than Ho-oH can. Setting up Emboar isn't all that hard compared to setting up a legend in a deck with no draw power.

:p i was saying its the lamer reshiboar. its a good idea....if you are lucky with your legend boxes (imagine...T1 Ho-oh :D)
 
One thing that Ho-oh Legend does better than Reshiram is acting as a Donphan counter. Ho-oh has more HP and a resistance, and can use any type of energy. Donphan can only 4HKO it with EQ, and Ho-oh can OHKO Donphan. Playing it in Zekrom would be best, as you could do the Pachi/Shaymin to energize it.
 
ho-oh can OHKO donphan? i never knew :p (as in...no it cant it only does 100 and only 80 to donphan i think you are missing a 2 in there...)

but reshiram is a basic. both will rely on emboar so it depends on who get out emboar first...like usual...
 
yep my bad was a misclick. Ho-oh won't be able to set up as quickly as Reshiram, but i think its niche will be to bring it out if fighting types are hurting you.

And I don't think Ho-oh relies on Emboar, it could be effective with DCE and/or Shaymin.
 
see thats why i want to hav ho oh. i despise reshibor just because. idk wwhy i just really hate it. ROGUES UNITE!!!!
