Holo's less rare? -old collector in a new world..

I used to be an avid pokemon card collector when I was like 10-12, I'm 17 now. I remember having binders full of pokemon cards. But I stopped for some reason and lost all my pokemon cards during the many times I've moved.

Anyways, so like last week I decided to get some, I got one of the Platinum Booster packs. In it I got a holographic Dialga lv.72, a piplup that is holographic outside the picture and a holographic trainer card.

When I saw the holo dialga, I was like "Oh wow cool this must be rare, what luck!" because back in my collecting days, a holographic legendary was pretty rare. Pretty much any holographic was rare.

Then today, I decided to buy 2 packs of the Platinum Booster packs and 2 pack of the Legends Awakened and I got:

Holographic Palkia G
Holographic Manectric
Holographic Palkia G lv. X
Holographic Uxie lv. X
Azelf that's holographic outside the picture
Lucario that's holographic outside the picture
Probopass that's holographic outside the picture
Piplup that's holographic outside the picture
Cranidos that's holographic outside the picture
Remoraid that's holographic outside the picture

Seems like I get a legendary holographic pokemon in every pack. Am I just really lucky or is this normal?

Also, I only got 1 element card total, which was strange because I remember when I used to collect, like half of every booster pack was just element cards.

Well you just got your self cards worth $60, holo cards are not worth much unless they are good in the metagame, but lv Xs are always worth alot

Holos are still pretty much 1 per pack...seems like you got some pretty darn good packs...you're guranteed one holo and one rare in each pack...sometimes those coincide and you end up with more than one holo or more than one rare...out of 4 packs you got two Ultra Rares (your Lv. X's), a couple of good rares, a couple of decent-ok rares, and couple holo commons and uncommons

these days, it's not really about the Legendary pokemon anymore, it's about the Lv. X's, Shining pokemon (which are no longer called such by name, they are distinguished by the card number, normally starting with SH), Secret Rares (cards which are numbered past the highest number in the set [i.e.: Charizard (SF) 103/100] and are reprints of much older cards), and the good rares in the sets

look through the Trade Forums, you will see what are the top wanted cards at the moment

There's one reverse holo in every pack, and the "normal" holos are a bit more rare, Lv. Xs being even more rare. You're extremely lucky to not only have gotten two holos and two Lv. Xs, but to have gotten good/popular holos/Lv. Xs.

The cards that are holo outside the picture are called reverse holos, and there are one in each pack. They can normally be commons, uncommons, rares, rare holos, or shinies(shinies are always reverse holos).

I must have insane luck holo-wise then...because out of every pack I've pulled (and I've opened 2 boxes in a row before)...I've gotten at least 1 holographic card (whether it be, reg holo, rev holo, or Ultra or Secret Rare)...are you sure holos are 1:3 packs?

You always get a reverse holo. 1/3 have a Rare Holo card(Rarer than a rare) in place of your rare card.

Also this is a lie or this guy has fakes because he got 6 reverse holos in 4 packs, which is impossible.

._.

You never know, with the packing errors and stuff. There have been reports of two Lv. X-cards in a single booster pack, so I don't see why there couldn't be two Reverse Holos.

yes but the chances of getting it in one pack is very low so two in a row makes it more unbelievable so really he either miscounted the packs he bought or hes lying

you can find runs like that, even in subsequent packs...have you ever heard of a box with no Lv. X's?...I have, I witnessed it...as long as I've been playing tcg's and been around hobby/card shops...I've seen alot of pack anomalies, it happens

yes but im trying to say that the odds of them getting a pack wrtong is very low and now you x2 that and you get a chance very, very, very low, he like I said could have bought more packs or he may not know what he is saying?
