How do you define beauty?

So if some people see beauty in a person within the same gender, and love them. Then the whole idea of Beauty stemming from an evolutionary trait is destroyed.

So, are you seriously trying to demonize someone else's theory because you don't agree with it? That's really shallow of you.
I never said that homosexuality is against evolution. I said I tend not to include within my studies and research because it's sketchy. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There, I said it. So with that, yes, homosexuality does have an apect of beauty when those who identify with that orientation find something beautiful.

I'm agreeing with ES. If you keep on wanting to arguing about evolutional theory and its relevance with homosexuality, take it off the thread.

I said beauty is in the eye of the beholder, we were asked to move on or try relate homosexuality to the subject. I started by saying beauty can be anything, someone else mentioned it was evolution.

Ehhhh... Not hating on homosexuals, but I don't generally include them when explaining evolutionary traits. It makes things really complicated, and I have yet to see for myself or see a confirmed report of homosexuality in nature, particularly in primates that are not human. It is entirely possible that may be a mutative gene from ages ago, but I think they confirmed that it is a choice as well.
I'll look into that.

Homosexuality is real, but not nearly in the amounts that some people claim it is in humans.
Most people classifying themselves as homosexuals are either confused or simply trying to be different.
That's not really the point of the thread though.
Are you kidding me? I'm not even going to respond to that. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

...I don't really want to respond to that either, considering you completely missed the point of my post.

Actually homosexuality is theorized to be caused by hormonal imbalance in the womb. Not an evolutionary trait. Sexual adaptations is a real thing, but not beauty. Beauty is often determined by facial symmetry.

But if you really want to get technical about homosexuality and evolution, it is an unknown evolutionary cause that is mainly seen only in humans / primates. I believe it is due to complexity and gene factors in the womb that may change hormones or something else.

What was the point then? That most people who identify as being homosexual are doing it because they're confused or because they want to feel different? Because that's just plain untrue.

...Still missing the point. Where did I ever mention homosexuality in regards to beauty?
I didn't.
Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, that says nothing about the psychological/physiological aspects involved in homosexuality. But that is another topic, so if you want, we can discuss it through PM/ profile messaging rather than spam this thread with unrelated arguments.
