hahaha so i guess i got warned again...lolz! i'm at 40% now. hahaha i didnt know that the guy's thread was locked but i posted on it. if that's so, should the lock STOP you from posting?? isn't there a function that'll stop you from posting if the thread is supposed to be locked? or can someone delete it??

thanks!

Making this thread probably won't help.

Well it won't hurt, he is just asking a simple question...Press the user cp button next to log out and it will take you to your User cp and then it will say your warnings and when it expires.

The thread you posted in was probably locked after you posted in it. Moderators usually lock the "dead" thread when someone happens to revive it. It's in the rules, not to post in threads if no one has posted there within the past two weeks. So be sure to check dates for when the last post was made in a thread. Also, you should be able to click where it says 40% to see your warnings, and when they expire.

RE: How long will this warning last?

A good rule of thumb is, if it's not on the first page, don't post in it.

RE: How long will this warning last?

Most warnings last a month but if you are on a previous waring9s0 for something else then you will be at the highest number for a shorter amount of time but you will be on you first one number for longer because a new warning was accumulated. If it reaches 100% over a month period you will be temporary banned. It is best to not spam or revive threads. As long as you have something new to a thread that is dead then you can revive it but it must be for a good reason too. As long as you add off topic and then get right back on you should be fine in most cases . The best thing to do is look at the dates and ask yourself if you have something worthwhile to post when reviving the thread. If you don't then leave it alone.:)

It's NEVER okay to revive a thread that's more than two weeks old unless
1) It's your own thread that you created or
2) It's your own thread in the trading corner or
3) It's someone else's reputation thread.

Even if you have something new to add and is worthwhile?? I did not know that. I thought if you had something that was really good to add that it was ok. I did not know that it was not to revived at all unless you had something that is great for the thread like something happening and was new to that topic. Oh well if it is for everything then I was wrong. Sorry guys. I did not know that at all.:)

RE: How long will this warning last?

Dont worry abotu warnings, just learn and dont do it again. I'm at 60% now or something, but I had a 0 streak for about 6 months which I thoguht was pretty impressive :D

RE: How long will this warning last?

How's a 0 streak for 2 years sound? ;0

xP Anyway, warnings are trivial. They're like a demerit in a school. They're there to help you learn from your mistakes. If you keep getting demerits you'll get a detention (in other words, a ban).

Also, if I remember correctly, you can revive 'dead' stickied threads.

Yeah I knew stickied thread were ok but I thought it was fine as long as you had something really good and new as well. I guess that is out too. Oh well that is fine with me though.:)

RE: How long will this warning last?

In my opinion, dead threads should be able to be revived if you have something valuable enough to contribute to them. Valuable would not be "I agree" or "I like this", it would be something... well, valuable. Because if you want to cut down on the amount of spam, then allowing valuable contributions to revive dead threads would be one way to do it, so people don't post new threads simply to convey news that they could've simply posted in a dead thread.

Again, this is only my opinion. I'm simply stating it, and last time I checked, stating your opinion was not against the official rules.

RE: How long will this warning last?

Problem with "something good and worthwhile" is that it is very subjective. I think the rules stated that if you want to revive a thread that is not what cheetor said were exceptions, you had to ask a mod first.

RE: How long will this warning last?

Ok so you can do it if worthwhile but I did not know about asking a mod first. That is the first time I have heard that too.:)
