This is a tutorial on how to use LackeyCCG, the program that is capable of hosting the Back to Basics cards, allowing fans of the game to play against each other online at their convenience.
Tutorials on how to download, install, and use the basic interface of this program can be found here: http://lackeyccg.com/gettingstarted.html However, there are additional download instructions and usage instructions if you want to play with the Back to Basics cards. These can be found right here.
If you have any questions about these instructions, or are having a problem with them, leave me a profile comment or PM me. I'm happy to help! It will take approximately 10 minutes to download everything and set up a game.
To Download & Install:
1) Go to http://lackeyccg.com/index.html and press the download link on the upper left side of the page. Make sure to choose the right one for your operating system.
2) Choose "Save file". After it downloads, open and install it. You should end up with a folder that has the LackeyCCG application inside it.
3) If you want to play with the Back to Basics cards, the following steps are incredibly important and cannot be found on the lackey website!!!!
4) Click here! It will ask you to save or open a file. Save it then unzip it. The folder should be called "FanMadePokemon". If this doesn't work for you, let me know and I can send you the file over Skype. Some antivirus software will prevent you from unzipping the file because I'm not a verified publisher or whatever.
5) Inside the FanMadePokemon folder, there should be two folders: a MACOSX folder and a FanMadePokemon folder. Go inside the MACOSX folder. There should be another folder called FanMadePokemon. (Windows users should move the FanMadePokemon folder outside the MACOSX folder, not the one inside it.)
6) Go into the LackeyCCG folder you downloaded and installed in step 2. Inside that folder, there should be a folder called "plugins". Open that folder. Move the folder you found in step 5 into the "plugins" folder.
7) You've successfully installed Lackey, along with the custom patch for the Back to Basics Fan Made Pokémon cards!
Setting up a Game:
1) Now, you probably want to use Lackey. First, open it up.
2) Go to the Preferences tab.
3) Click "Browse installed plugins to lead one..."
4) You should see "FanMadePokemon" on the list of installed plugins. Click on it then press "Choose".
5) Go to the "Deck Editor" tab. Using it is fairly straightforward. You can double click a card to add it or press the "+1" or "+4" button below the list of cards after selecting a card. After you've made your deck, press "Save deck".
6) (If you just want to play solitaire, press the "Load entire deck to you" button and your game will start.)
7) Go to the "Server" tab. You'll have to choose a username and create an account of sorts. You only have to do this once.
8) Then, connect to the server!
9) In the upper left, you'll see a list of members on the server. Members also playing this game will be in black and members playing other games will be in grey.
10) To start a game, press the "Host a game..." button. You can change the settings there if you want, but it's best to just leave them and press "Host a game!".
11) Then, have your friend join it by clicking on it in the list of games next to the list of members and pressing "Join selected game."
12) Go the "Deck Editor" tab again now, open up the deck you want to play with, and press "Load entire deck to you". Then, go back to the "Game" tab.
Playing:
1) The large square area in the upper right is the playing field.
2) Right below that are the buttons to draw, flip a coin, add damage, etc. Note that to add damage or special conditions, you must have a card in the playing field selected first.
3) To set your prizes, you have to go to the "Deck" tab, right click it, go to "Move", then "Top", then "Six", then "to top of", then to "Prizes". This is because this program wasn't originally written for Pokémon.
4) To the best of my knowledge, there's no way to flip cards over, so lay your opening basics at the same time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
5) Below the picture of the card are the volume controls. Between them, there's a box that says "Text". Those of you with bad eyes can check this box to get a spoiler version of the cards on top of the image.
6) Everything else is fairly straightforward. It's very similar to Redshark. There's a chat below where your hand is.
