Hydreigon-EX and Double Dragon Energy from ‘Emerald Break!’ [3/9]

Dragonite is WOW.
Great HP great Attack high energy cost though
Amazing trait (extra prize)
If it gets good support its going to see a lot of play. For a minimum of 3 energy (2 double dragon + 1) it can OHKO most pokemon and with a bangle almost every Non mega EX
 
Dragonite is quite difficult to power up. Although, I could see it being played with M-Manectric for the accel and/or regular Manectric for the snipe damage that could help out.

I can't be the only one who thought of this ??

On a more relevant note, I find the double specific energy strange but also interesting. It makes me wonder if they will make other double specific energies ??
 
Nah, it's just an equivalent to Strong Energy, Shield Energy, etc. They chose this because Dragons typically require a lot of energy, and of different types. Though, on a not really related, but kind of relevant, note, I wonder if we'll get a Colorless Special Energy as well since they're also a massive focus this set. We've gotten two Special Energy in each of these so far, except Phantom Forces. (I guess you could count Double Colorless as Phantom Forces' second, although it was only in there because of a Japanese deck, and not the Japanese Phantom Gate set.)


Edit: Actually looking at the set order, this isn't going to happen. Special Energies are at the end of a set, and Double Dragon Energy is the last card in the set, with Sky Field immediately before it.

Well, the Double Deagon Energy does make a reference to the Super Double Dragon series, albeit unintentionally.

We could get the return of Scramble Energy, except it provides three energy and can only be attached to [C] type Pokemon.
 
Well, since the Special Energy seen to be arranged in either Alphabetical or Type order, it's doubtful we'll get a [C]. Although, an Energy of another of the missing types is still a possibility.
 
That new dragonite is pretty good with the new double dragon energy. I am thinking maybe Seismitoad EX/ Dragonite/ Virizion EX deck could be good.
 
Yeah, I was ready to write that Dragonite off as complete filler until I saw that it had that cool ancient trait. It could also be good with Milotic FF as you'll still have the prize lead.

I never noticed that combo. With it, you can take a legitimate 5 Energy onto Dragonite in a single turn. Ouch. I personally want to try it as a mix with the Dragonite from Plasma Freeze. You stop Items for a few turns while powering up your benched Ancient Dragonite's, then you swarm. Enhanced Hammer doesn't even matter because of Deafen.
 
I'm not trying to say hydreigon is good but his Attack with a muscle band as far as I am aware is the only EX that can actually kill a suicune/siglyph It can also damage pyroar.

Mega Turbo Energy that the name of the second special energy it was leak in the set detail but no word of what it will do my bet on 3 energy that can only be used on mega
 
Nope mega turbo turned out not to be an energy but a trainer which accelerated mega pokemon with energy from discard pile
